Another great show at Ripon is in the books. The weather was just about perfect and the attendance record set last year was broken this year by one entry. This is a very well run event that never fails to provide attendees and spectators alike with a unique and rewarding experience and this year's edition was no exception!

There were three SSPs and one Camaro B4C to represent the Special Service Pursuit Package class. The entrants popular vote judging results were:

* 1st Place - 1991 NHP Camaro B4C, Jeff Leathley
* 2nd Place - 1988 CHP Mustang SSP, Mike Catalano
* 3rd Place - 1986 CHP Mustang SSP, Mike Del Puppo

A Chief's Choice Award also went to Keith Suzuki for his 1988 USAF Mustang SSP.

Congrats to all! The vehicles were very well received by the show goers and I can report from the great new contacts I made over the weekend that we can expect to see two or three more CHP restorations appearing in the near future. :2thumbs:

As a side note, there were a couple of no shows in the class this year and the organizers have stated that unless there is a bigger future field, our class may get folded back into the larger Restored 1980-1996 Police Vehicle class. I would hate to see that happen so let's really rock the turnout and make next year a record setter for our vehicles, OK guys?!! :yes:

I came home to a DOA computer so my photos will be posted as soon as I can muster up some repairs or a new box. :(

More show photos can be found here:

Enjoy and we'll see you all back at Ripon in 2012!

I was one of the no shows this year. I had paid reg fee and I was called to do a emergency concrete pumping job in Cresent City Ca before the rains hit. I was really bummed out. I was looking forward to this show. I will be there next year with both my 1985 CHP and my 1985 Nev car. Also Ken E435300 is almost done with his restoration of his blue 1989 CHP SMPV. Ken will be there as well. I will be helping Mustang Kid (Sam) with CHP #8337 to make the show as well. 3 1985's we be there next year!:cool:

Yep, imma try real hard to get 8337 a lot nicer. May not be painted, but I would like to have the interior squared away along with the equipment:D The paint on it right now will buff out nice, it just has a lot of flaking from the CHP repaint.
With the help of you guys on here, it is sure to get done:)

One of my friends went down to Ripon and he is going to send me pics. I'll post them when I get them.

What a bummer you couldn't make it Rich but there are more important things in life sometimes. OK, the '85 attendance challenge is on for next year! :)
