How many S810 radio heads do you have Sam ?
How many do you need ?

We have quite a few shells, but only the rear half, no internals. I'm sure my dad would love to have a complete head for every one of our 90's cars LOL

Sam, if i can acquire a S825 do u guys have any extra keypads?

My dad doesn't have any extra's that he would sell. One good thing is that the CHP is phasing out the S810 setups, in the next few years, I would think some systems will become available. Don't know where the radio systems are going right now though...

Nice find. Glad you are saving it from the crusher.

I am just getting into these cars. If I come across a car that I suspect is an SSP, will I be able to see these "buck tags" on the core support without removing the front bumper or headlight etc.? I am specifically interested in the 1987-1993 cars. Thanks.

Yes, you should be able to see two buck tags stapled together to the radiator support behind the drivers side headlight. I was able to take this picture of the buck tags on one of my dads cars. You should be able to see them

Also, use a good flashlight when looking for the buck tags. It helps to read them better.

Good save on the CHP Mustang !

You can use an S820, S830 radio head. It looks exactly like an S810.
I found 2 complete units with wire harness on eBay for $60.00 + shipping.
The display window IS different on the S810 than the others, but not that noticable unless you are wanting EXACT.

The problem is that you will need the KEY PAD that was made specificaly for the CHP for those radios. Those are hard to come by.

Sam is right, there may be some come available soon. But they are holding on to them for a while. They are still having issues with the new radio system, so they are keeping everything, using some for parts even.
The S810's are still in use in the field and EVOC etc. Motors have them still.

The key pad will be hard to get.

You are going to have to sit back and wait.
We have someone that can get this info for us, but at the moment everything is on hold.

Department internal issue. It will come though. In time.
Some info on some vehicles is not available.
LONG story on how and why.

Be patient.

Going through paper work handed to me from the previous owner on my car, I have been able to make contact with all previous owners except the first ones that purchased my car from CHP Torrance Motor Transport.

It is neat to find out the history from all owners. ALL of them have told me that they wish they had never sold this car.
I am glad that they did !

They think it is pretty neat that it has landed back in the hands of a retired CHP officer and turned back into a patrol car again.

I'm glad it's sitting in MY shop !! lol
