OK folks.... a transvestite CSP SSP sold today for 14K at auction. You gotta admit that this purebred Texas SSP w/ all its know history and extras is well worth my asking price!

Clone or tribute car? Yes. Transvestite? No.
I don't know what a car dressed as the opposite sex would look. Your car is beautiful and well worth your asking price. In similar restored condition IMHO I think an 1982-86 SSP will bring more than a 1987-93 SSP though (because of the numbers built). But I don't think my car restored as a CSP would have brought any more money to the table. In fact, I think it may have done better because of the GSP colors. I did not buy the car to sell it (I've been a fan of Fox chassis Mustangs since I bought my first new one in 1980), but my job situation dictated it. The buyer knew what he was buying and it now resides in his collection of Mustangs as the rarest (only SSP) of over 20 different models. But anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay (no matter what it's appraised or insured for). I bet yours would bring $20k or better if you took it to a MECUM (or similar) auction. I got lucky at the auction I went to as there were 5 interested parties bidding on it. Some of the floor workers also work for Barrett Jackson (Angel) too and I asked one of them if they had ever seen an SSP at an auction that they had worked and he said "no". I did not decide to sell my car at auction until last Tuesday, so I barely got it listed online and missed the printed catalog. If you decided now to put it in a Fall auction you would get greater pre-auction exposure than I did. It's all about the marketing and putting the right product in front of the right consumer. Good luck with the sale and thanks for your contributions to the SSP hobby.
Bob

After thinking about it, I guess a transvestite Mustang SSP would look like a Special Service 'B4C' Camaro.

Before this gets out of hand, my term "transvestite" was a joke. I was kidding my friend. Sorry for any confusion.

No confusion. I know it was a joke, I was just having some fun with it too. No offense taken. Just thought that the auction route might be a good venue for you to try. Very nice car and if I had a job I would not hesitate to take my proceeds from my last SSP and put it towards buying yours.
