The mounting holes on your door were for an in-house-fabbed shotgun shell holder. I know it sounds weird, but CSP screwed them into the door (webbed material with elastic for the shells). I have an email somewhere from the trooper that drove my '83 describing it, but I have no idea how long they were or how many shells they held. My '83, which is still original down to the paint, has the same holes in the door panel. You should have several holes on the top of the rear driveshaft hump. This is where the shotgun rack was mounted. The shotguns were Remington 870s with folding stocks, and they were stored with the stocks folded up. The Trooper that drove my car described that as well, and I'm sure his memory was correct; he killed a suspect while driving my car with his shotgun. |
:2thumbs: Excellent info Mr. Evil.

Nice car and the documentation is a definite plus. Congrats.

Hey Hector i ws looking at my documentation for my CSP tonight. it was smogged and inspected in April of 1995 then 9 days later sold at auction. The smog receipt shows the License plate as being 100237. My car never got the updated "CSP" plate. Check your smog stuff to see if it shows the license plate number.
Post up a pic of the plate you bought on Ebay. I am going to have the platemeister make me a set with the correct numbers on them. |
Jim , I just looked at my documents and my smog sheet and it states
my plate # was XX20645 ???? as per my documents , the smog was the last thing done as a CSP car ... The smog sheet reads State Patrol !! I don't understand that plate # at all ??? Here is the pic of the CO plate i puchased on CO CL ..and the one i had made up in FL with the original unit #.. http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...%20SSP/HSP.gif http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...0302001958.jpg ssp91ssp |
very nice Hector. did the platemeister do the plate for you?

CSP gift from Ex Trooper
Got home today to find a package from Colorado on my porch ????
Read the label and saw it as from my CSP contact in Co. Ex trooper Mansen sent me 2 correct colorado size red bulbs for my spots, 3 large color copies of the CSP logo , and the the best part ! a 15 min dvd of a couple CSP Mustangs in high persuit in the mountains of Co. the vid is from early 1992 . Jim , maybe it's your car in the vid as mine was already retired at that point . the vid is a bit blurry since it's a copy , i'm just glad he sent it , period .. Thanks again Ron !!!!:2thumbs: http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...416002152a.jpg http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...0416002153.jpg |

CSP graphics permission ok'd ! sweeeeeeeeet !
You guys may remember that my Colorado State Patrol graphics permission was under way.
It has been granted! graphics should be here a week from today. this has taken several months to complete but well worth it. The graphics were expensive but again well worth it ! Evil, Drama, The initial cost for the setup of the graphics is going to save you guys a lot of money , this is because i was charged a fee to redo the door decal as they only had GM car at CSP to go by. The flying wheel art rework was $225 alone! yes , $225.00. I will post pics with them on the car as soon as they get here. The permission states they must be magnetic ! that's fine with me as the car just came out of storage and is making trips to work. __________________ |
The day she came out of storage a few days ago. As of today the front height has also been raised as it wore BBK springs that were too low. She also got new skins and power coated wheels, thanks,Stubes.
sorry about the date on the pic. http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...P/101_4461.jpg |
Nice looking car Hector. I can't view any of the other pictures except for the one in the last post. May be due to this military network.
My '93 will look identical to that one when I get it painted and the wheeld powdercoated. Big fan of the black door moldings as well. |

I was just able to view all your photos of the car on you photobucket page. Looks like a very nice interior and a well docmented car. Very nice
|
It's looking great Hector! Thanks for the pics...
|
Thanks for the comments guys! :)
This is after i raised the front susp to match rear, the pic is a bit dark. It came down 1/4" from the way it sits after a quick drive down the road and things settled back down. http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...P/101_4476.jpg |
Much better:thumbsup:

Lighting TLC
The CSP has been doing daily duty to work n i noticed that i couldn't see much of the road in the dark mornings.Yellowish front lamps.
I purchased a polish kit from Silver Eagle and took about 1.5hrs to do all front lights. The kit does require shop air. Take a look at results ! http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...P/101_4482.jpg http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...P/101_4483.jpg |
glad to see the wheels worked out for you

CSP Decals
While at the CSP Anniv event this past wknd , Major Bratt presented me with the signed permission for the Colorado State Patrol decals.
Since already there i made a purchase of 2 sets , magnets / hard marked set. It really changes the total look of the car! http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...0927001832.jpg http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...925001245a.jpg http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...0923001135.jpg |
who did you buy the decals from?
|
The decals were done by the outfit that does all the CSP cars.
Major Bratt set it all up once the Chief gave the ok and they met up with me at the CSP Academy upon arrival. Jim , have you sent your permission letter to the chief yet ? I know it took me several months for it all to work out. http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...928001900a.jpg http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/s...0928001901.jpg |
NICE photos Hector...cool!
|
Looks great, Hector. Got an email from Major Bratt today asking for my DOB to run the background check and saying that he should have the signature from the Chief next week. Hopefully, it won't be long before I have my set of decals!! Although, I'll have to re-size the flying wheel logo down a bit for the Camaro's door. You really paved the way for the rest of us and that's greatly appreciated. :)
Greg |
Greg , That's great !!!
It took me a few months to get it all done but well worth it! As far as the paving I did ?? Like Mr Drama said ......That's how we roll here!:D |
Hector - Post up some interior pics when you have a chance...thanks.
