Bobby, thanks for posting up the VIN photo and the GSP information to go along with it. I will get this one added to the Project later this week.

Found a GSA car (roller) on eBay -
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-mustang...p2054897.l4275 The DSO # is 83-0124 |
I love that almost every one of the GSA cars were full loaded. It's only taxpayer $$!
|
You can't even imagine the half of it.

Jonathon uncovered an unconfirmed 1985 Nebraska SSP, which fell within a range of other unconfirmed Nebraska cars. The seller sent him pictures, which he has shared for the Project -

Here are two Connecticut SSPs that we just added (an '87 provided by Jonathon & an '88 found on Facebook) -

Glad to see more SSP's still turning up on the Project :2thumbs:

I do not always comment when I add SSPs to the Project. We are roughly 10 cars away from crossing the 3,200 mark. I haven't ordered any Marti Reports in a while, but I may order a couple to lock in the range of Nevada SSPs for 1986, as discussed here: http://www.specialservicemustang.net...4&postcount=69 By ordering 2 reports, we can add 9 more cars to the Project. That should be a pretty good bang for the buck! :) |

Nice documentation for HF170655. I see 11 P40E VINs and unit numbers there. :)

If I am looking at the VINs on the CTSP documentation correctly, what is currently this:

We've added a few recently, but this one submitted by Jonathon was worth mentioning -

Mick, thank you for providing the correction to the VIN data. I have changed the 1987 VIN page, and used the documentation from HF170655 to create pages for the other cars that were listed. Here is one example of the new pages, which include a clear listing of the data that I prepared in Excel - http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info170650.htm Thanks again for your help! ;) |
It's been a while since we've added a 1982 CHP to the Project -
http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info213105.htm Note, there are over 3,200 documented SSPs in the VIN Project at this point, and that only counts the 27 CHP cars from 1982 which are well-documented, not the entire batch of those VINs! We would be over 3,500 cars if we counted all of those too! 'Not bragging - just proud! :) |
SSP Paint
Is there any way to find out what "from the factory" color was the least used on a SSP or what colors were never used (or not an option/available) on a SSP in a particular year? I would guess that "Almond" & "Tropical Yellow" were probably never used in 1989 (or any other year), but I could be wrong.
|
Kevin Marti MAY be able to shed some light on this, but his time costs money. I am not sure about Tropical Yellow, but we have seen a 1989 GSA car turn up in Almond -

Can't wait to get this one home on Saturday, BIG thanks to Bobby for helping me track down a GSP!!!

Glad to help Ron!!! Can't wait follow it's progress:cool: |
Stumbled on this car. First I've seen with this DSO. Interesting that it falls at the beginning of a batch with confirmed GSP's. AutoCheck shows first titled in Smithfield, VA with 96k miles in 08/2002. Owner is going to check for the buck tags for me.

Here is an old FS ad for KF262059: http://www.fargostreet.com/forums/sh...9-Ford-Mustang
KF262058 also spent a bit of time in VA. Registration was in Smithfield, VA from 1996 through 2005. It and KF262059 seemed to have been manufactured approximately two months prior the GSPs (06/1989 versus 08/1989). AC report for KF262060 was inconclusive. No records past the 'manufactured and shipped to dealer' entry. But it was manufactured closer to the GSP group than it was to the first two that went to VA. DSO '17' is Washington (DC). It changed to '27 in mid 1992. http://www.specialservicemustang.net...&postcount=945 |
First two in that batch of GSP's are not GSP's. First GSP is Vin #262060 Perm 2224...

Bill,
These were posted up on Facebook. The tags were removed from a car in a salvage yard destined to be crushed, and put on a race car. |
#500 has been added
With the information being posted yesterday on the Stephenville, Texas SSP...
http://www.specialservicemustang.net...ead.php?t=5920 ...we now have our 500th SSP confirmed for 1989, as follows: http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info206055.htm That is the most of any year so far. For those who are interested, the years break down as follows: 1982 - 027 1983 - 048 1984 - 072 1985 - 261 1986 - 166 1987 - 408 1988 - 387 1989 - 500 1990 - 387 1991 - 208 1992 - 266 1993 - 478 ---------------- . . .3,208 total I remember when this project started (over 100 thread pages ago!) and being happy when we reached 50 SSPs being documented (total for all years!) 'Not too shabby! |
And thanks to Bobby for posting up information on the 501st SSP from 1989 -
http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info283785.htm :D |
There's an 89 FHP for sale that was originally an unmarked (5spd) car. I was texting with the seller, and he provided me with a photo of the VIN label, plus other photos of the car. Here is the new page in our VIN Project -
