That's a good question and hard to say. The NCSHP purged their records during a computer upgrade earlier this century (funny writing that and I think this is the first time that I have) and records were tossed for any car not owned by the NCSHP at that time. Just prior to auctioning off their marked silver and black Mustangs, the NCSHP repainted them in various colors (e.g. red, white, blue, black, etc.). That's why I asked if yours was originally white or not. They also had unmarked units in a variety of colors too. Over on .org they have the following in the VIN registry and it references white color (I don't know if it was a repaint or original color but I'd hedge my bet it was originally white).

I'd like to put together something for the site here with known, documented cars that correlates DSOs with agencies (and in some cases, how the cars were optioned). It would require pictures of the door tags and/or buck tags and other documentation to list, and not just word of mouth. I do not think it's feasible to form a registry that lists every single VIN, since alot of these cars are long gone, and we are still in the process of learning about some of the others. |
Mike - That sounds like a great idea!
