I had never used a clay bar on anything till I saw your post here. Ended up claying the black Dodge truck and wow....what a difference it makes. I have half of it clayed and waxed and it is looking like new again. The truck is so big though it is taking awhile. I am going to try and get it finished over the next couple of days.

Next up is the 07 GT. I think it can use it also since it sat on the dealers lot for 9 months before I brought it home.

I first tried it on the BA Blue Cobra I had (you saw it that one time). I used Zaino Bros stuff on that car after the clay and it looked PERFECT. I really couldn't believe the depth of the gloss, lack of any swirls or other marks, etc.

I was very surprised at the amount of trash in the paint on the new car. I mean, it sat outside for a day or so, then covered rail, then outside for 2 or 3 more, and then I picked it up (in the rain). The clay makes a big difference.

Clay has been around for some time. Vehicles built in the Midwest (Detroit) etc...are VERY prone to rail dust, industrial fallout and air pollution that can attack the fresh paint within days. Those covered rail cars are not covered all that well. Small metallic particles will land on the paint, moisture then causes it to breakdown (rust) and penetrate the paint surface. In severe cases, I have seen cars, white especially, literally be covered with small minute rust spots...caused by the fallout I mentioned.

Bottom line, Clay your car regularly if it is outside before waxing. Otherwise twice a year at least. It will be easier after the first time. Your paint will look brilliant for many years.

I first used it in '99, on the '98 Cobra below, with Zaino. This was back before they had a website and you could have Sal talk you through the process over the phone. :)

The pic is from '04 (when I sold it).

I swear by Zaino...it's good stuff.

I remember the 98, was good looking car, as is the Bullit.

You have to buy it from an authorized distributor, or now through the very-convenient website. :)
