Interior Rear

The car is looking great. Will you be able to work with the paint on the hood and bumper or will that need to be painted?

Your car really reminds me of mine, as far as, one owner racking up the miles but caring for and maintaining it. Not many SSP's had that luxury!

Thanks,

The hood will have to be painted, and I think that the bumper covers will be too.

I was able to keep the original headlights, marker lights and taillights by carefully polishing and cleaning them.

Also, almost all of the interior was retained as well. I went ahead and rebuilt the console arm rest, ash tray door hinge, and replaced the drivers side arm rest pad. They were past showing wear and into full deterioration.

I really want to keep as much original feel as possible, but at the same time I want it to appear as "in service" as possible, even if that is a late (worn) in service appearance.

Do you have any trouble with the FHP paint scheme in Florida? When I bought #0510 It still wore its FHP colors... I painted it all black to avoid any issues with the FHP.

I would if I drove it, I am sure.

Quoting the FL statute that 8034 posted above.

Home > Laws > 2012 Florida Statutes > Title XXIII > Chapter 321 > Section 03

Getting lots of great info from him, and some pictures from when he owned it. Alot more of the original after auction condition is still visible in 2009.

That's great you've made that connection.

Yes, very happy about that.

When I bought the car, word of mouth said it came from Troop D, Orlando.

That was in conflict with an official record that showed Troop H was the 1st issued Troop.

Talking with the auction buyer, he said he was the source of that info in that since he bought it at an auction in Orlando, he assumed it was from that troop.

So that puts it back in Troop H.

HOWEVER, it has 3 antenna holes. The most common reason for the 3rd hole (not a clamp on, but a hole) was 800 Mhz radios in South Florida. BUT Troop H did not have 800MHz from 1992 through 1996, when 1396 was in service.

Since then 3 scenarios for the 3rd antenna have been proposed:

1. Troop H was headquarters, and they may have been testing 800 MHz with it.
2. The 3rd hole was for a permanent install of a SO radio.
3. The car was transferred to South Florida for Hurricane Andrew.

Other than that, I did hit the Jackpot for pics from 2009: :)
