Just for extra protection, I went ahead and preped and treated the most prone areas with POR 15 for the added protection against future rust. Now for the other side, then I'll re-seam seal at factory locations. Once that's done I'll coat the entire bottom with the PPG wet on wet gray sealer and then my olive color will be applied. Finally I'll blow the GSP Fleet blue over onto the bottom to match my factory before pics. Soooo tempting to just paint the blue and clear it LOL...

Decided I would replace the lower section of the core support as I already had a new lower half left over from another project. It really wasn't that bad but why not as I'm in too deep to cut corners LOL...

Cleaned up and coated inside with POR15 and sprayed edges with weld thru primer...

I got a little excited and forgot to take pics but the bottom is done. Overspray replicated and entire bottom side satin cleared for protection. She's now off the rotisserie jail... I have a 8.8 temporarily in under her to move around. The 7.5 will be restored before it is put back in. Now it's at least Mobil so when it's ready I can move it into the paint both...

28HopUp 03-03-2015 02:55 PM

I GUESS we will forgive you for not taking photos of the finished underside! ;) I cannot wait to see this one finished. It will be quite a unique car (even around other GSPs).

Thanks Jim! I was very blessed to find her. I've been wanting and searching for one for years. I gave Way more than I felt it was worth, but according to our research this appeared to be my only chance to ever get one. I'd like to have it done by the GSP's 80th in 2017 but we'll see...

Bill,
I'm actually getting this one ready to go into storage real soon... I want to get all my GSP's in paint then do the reassembly one at a time afterwards. That way the hardest and most expensive part will be done. As soon as it's ready, I'll be swapping it out with another year already in storage because the "show must go on"...

NoDrama43 11-11-2015 05:34 PM

One must have a plan when trying to restore multiple cars.

I believe I have finally found a painter up here (5 miles from my house) that will get the cars done in a timely fashion. We are discussing 4 months per car. If that can come true I hope to complete two cars per year starting in 2017. With where I am now on the 93 and the 86 Idaho car I hope to have four done by the end of 2016.

Going to take some motivation for sure.

Sounds like a plan... I'd like to get mine all painted in the next year and a half but time will tell... Two is probably more realistic.

Got my NOS handles!!!

NoDrama43 11-12-2015 09:26 AM

sounds good. I am going to the humongous Ford Swap meet here in Ohio on Thanksgiving weekend. If you have anything specific you are needing send me a list and I will try to find it. There is so many parts at this meet that it takes two days to look through everything.

One other needle in a haystack, the heat riser tubes ( the ones that look like flex pipes between exhaust manifolds and breather snorkels)...
