Speaking of heater cores, does anyone have a recommendation?

I found this one on the FMR website -

That's what I plan to order...

Can you still get Ford OEM? I hear the newer ones don't hold up as well as factory. And when you are putting in THAT much time to install a new one...kinda only want to do it once. :)

That's what I was thinking. I'd like to go oem with that. Because once it's in, I don't want it to fail.

I just put in a core in a 86 GT vert last week. They bought the core at Auto Zone and I cringed until I opened the box and saw it was a brass core and had the inlet restriction pre-installed. I usually recommend OEM but I was impressed by this new unit.

Thanks

I bought NOS from Late Model Restoration, although it was a year ago. Not sure if they are still selling them now.

I got to see two .NET members this week! I loaded a few parts in my F150 on Monday and drove to Ohio to see Jim/NoDrama. I enjoyed a quick dinner with them (THANK YOU!), and we dashed over to the barn to unload and load parts. I didn't hang around long, because I needed to be in Georgia to meet Bobby the next morning. After overnighting in Knoxville, I got to the body shop around mid-morning. I left him with two used hoods which should require less prep work than the one on the car currently. It was great to see Bobby again, albeit the visit was a short one.

I FINALLY got to see my new SSP! The car is coming along nicely, and it should be completed fairly soon. Attached are a few photos, including one of the nasty spray-foam under the decklid (a previous owner was trying to silence a rattle caused by the boom box in the trunk).

Gentlemen, thank you for your time and assistance. This car is another example of SSP hobbyists coming together to help get an SSP back into circulation. ;)
