So I now have a FedEx tracking number for the box of radio equipment and magnetic markings from the museum. FINALLY! I will be very relieved once that arrives.

I plan to rent a U-Haul open trailer locally and drive down with my F150 to get it at some point in February. Local rentals are quite a bit cheaper than one-way rentals. Once home, I will bump the 94 Cobra out of the garage and keep the SSP safely tucked inside. :)

Thank you, Jim. Your old hood looks like it came out nicely. I can't wait to see it (and the rest of the car) in person. And yes, I am keeping the MCA Show in Niagara this summer in my sights (the MCA Show in Myrtle Beach, too).

Finally! The equipment and markings arrived this week from the "museum". The only item that is MIA is the unit number "1310" magnet, which was not the correct size anyway. I have a buddy who owns a sign shop, and I will have him recreate the unit number along with the scroll work under the side molding.

I think I will need to lean on Rhino to figure out the proper placement of the radio equipment. ;)

I can definitely walk you through the placement of the gear when ready.

As for the 1310 Numbers on the driver side fender...that's not a magnet. Those were Hillman mailbox decals (roughly 1-1.5 inch rectangle style) and were permanently placed on the fender. That was the only thing I left on the car. The rest of the magnets were stowed for takeoff.

You did get the light bar, too, yes? (even if you don't ever use it again, would be good to have).

excellent news Bill.

Ryan,

Thanks for the information and messages. Your willingness to help me with the equipment placement is GREATLY appreciated!

I assumed that the 1310 numbers were on a magnet because they were not shown on the photos by the museum. Either they removed them, or perhaps Buddy did prior to selling the car to them.

I did not purchase the lightbar from the museum. They wanted a lot of coin for it, and shipping would have been expensive (remember they sold and shipped the car without any of the equipment, which I purchased separately). I plan to equip the car with the correct lighting as was used on the blue unmarked PCSD car. My car will honor the story about one of their red traffic units having its lightbar stolen while in-service, which they turned into a slicktop. My PCSD may not be the same car, but it makes for a great story and honors the agency.
