It always amazes me ones that still show up in service or very recently out of service. Cool stuff on that one!

I just wanted to make a quick note to ask everyone to go through their files and picture folders to see if they have anything that has not been posted yet in the VIN Project. 'Looking for things like VIN labels, Buck Tags, auction sheets, agency information, etc. You may have something that can assist with confirming other cars in our Pending Folder. Feel free to post them up in this thread as an attachment, or send me a PM if you do not have my email address.

Thanks! :D

Typo????

Thanks to Mick, we added a 1990 SC Mustang to the Project -

I started checking out the other SSPs in that batch and found an interesting one -

http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info184669.htm

Note that the seller claimed without realizing it that one tag reads 22-0078 and the other one reads 22-0079. I figured it was a typo in the seller's listing. Well, there's another SC car from that batch which has different DSO numbers on its tags -

http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info184662.htm

The VIN label shows the DSO to be #22-0079, but the Buck Tags have two differing DSO numbers (#22-0078 and #22-0079). If you go back to the first link in this post, it looks like its two tags may be the same way. Does anybody remember ever seeing a typo like that on the Buck Tags?

It'd be interesting to see if the options were any different between the two order numbers.

I guess you already noticed the 2 paint codes on the door tag pics in the first link....I didn't see the door tags in the others, though.

Here is an earlier VIN for a South Carolina car that year with DSO #22-0078 -

http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info183656.htm

That could explain why the latter cars have Buck Tags with both numbers, but it is still a typo. IDK... :headscratch:

The 1990 SCHP door tag DSOs break down like so...

LF183xxx = 22-0078
LF184xxx = 22-0079

At least the ones that we know of anyway. I'm not saying they're all like that.

I am stumped on the door tag and buck tag DSOs not matching

CSP on Craigslist

This looks like an interesting 1985 CSP (Colorado) SSP on Craigslist that shows the VIN and some other paperwork.

Sorry...just realized you've already entered it into the VIN Project.

Bill,
Here is the warranty card from my lastest acquisition. A 1988 GSP Perm 8292 wrecked in service with 24909 miles. This is quite possibly the lowest mileage GSP. More info to come...
