how did u obtain info on your ssp?

Found my info when I ran a Carfax. The bad thing was it was involved in a crash. The good thing was it showed what county in Ga it occured. I was able to call that local SO and spoke to a deputy which happened to remember the car. Got lucky on that one.

Since your DSO indicates your SSP to be a possible South Carolina Highway Patrol car, I'd search through posts to see if anyone has a SC car listed in their signature. Somebody who has already done the research may be able to help you. One online source I checked says that there were 65 SSP's purchased by SCHP in 1988, so I'm confident that there are other known SC SSP's out there (FYI - it didn't shown any 93's being purchased by the SCHP, but the data is only as accurate as the person entering the information).

You can also contact the SCHP directly -

http://www.schp.org/

They may have a museum with somebody who could be of assistance. But use the phone rather than email for initial contact. Thank you's and supporting info can be done via email.

Be patient and diligent, and most of all good luck!

contact sspanthony. He has a 93 SCHP and he was able to locate the trooper that drove it.

also Gregg aka Unmrked has several SCHP cars and can possibly give you some contact information.

If your car is a SCHP car it should have the unit number sprayed (stencil) on the drivers side door jam, and also on the bottom of the hood. Look carefully to see if you can see an outline under the electric red paint or possibly some remnant of it.

If your car was involved in a car crash (per car fax) it will have the crash number listed. obtain the crash report from the agency and see where it takes you.

it has been in an accident but does not show on carfax. also shows no goverment or police use on carfax

NoDrama43 04-15-2010 12:35 PM

carfax does not record govt. or police service time

you can also do a title search from the state the car came from. Possibly research back to the first original title which will have the police agency identified.

post up the car fax information

If you have access to or can go to a local Kinko's Center, scan in your CarFax, then U/L it here for everyone to see for further assistance.

I would also do what Jim said and contact the State in which the title is issued and ask how much it would cost to do a Title Search and get those findings.

As frustrating as it may seem, you just have to keep digging - something is bound to pop up.

Try going to your local Ford Dealer and ask if they can do an OASIS report on that vehicle - maybe something within that report will have some leads as well....
