rookie fan

hi everyone! my name is brian and i am a 8yr officer here in KY. I have been a k-9 officer for almost 4yrs now. I have been a fan of the ss mustangs for years yet never new much about them. I have owned two mustang gts in my life so far and i am very serious about finding a ss mustang. there is something about being a police officer and a mustang fan and owning one of these great cars. My first car was a 89 mustang gt so i am kinda looking at the 87-93 models. BUT i do love the 86 body style. I figure with the help from this webpape i should be able to find and rebuild a great car.

Welcome to the site.

You shouldn't have to much trouble finding a ssp.

FHP0665 11-05-2007 06:36 PM

Welcome... they are a blast.

ImEvil1 11-05-2007 06:48 PM

Welcome aboard. :)

I was lucky enough to drive one of these in-service when I was local LEO. They are definitely addictive.

Let us know if we can help.

thanks guys. i am in the process of finishing up my current project. it is a 00 ford lightning with a whipple superchager (hoping for 470hp/550tq at the wheels). as soon as it is finished up i will start looking for a ssp mustang. i saw a red ssp on ebay in AZ last night. hmmmm lol

Welcome to the sight!

Ok...not trying to hijack your thread, but you got me all nostalgic. :)

Here are my 3 in 1997. The blue one on the left was a slicktop traffic car that was repainted and given to me when I was in narcotics. It had 28K miles on it when it was assigned. I later bought it in 2002 at auction with 46K miles on it.

ImEvil1 11-06-2007 12:04 AM

One more...I had just bought the '93 FHP car at auction.

Thanks. :)

It's the one I used in the FHP resto section....still wearing the spray-paint from the auction (a little faded over time and several washings, though).

k9-cop 11-06-2007 04:17 PM

k9-cop 11-06-2007 04:19 PM

It's safely tucked away in my garage. :)

Wow that's nice. Looks like the one that was for sale on .org a while back. If so, it's been cleaned up and improved on quite a bit since then.

Hey Mike, I'm digging your Silver Notch. Do you have any more pics? We need to get our two low mile examples together sometime.

ImEvil1 11-10-2007 11:28 PM

Not that are scanned. I took a couple when I brought it out to Texas a few months ago, but haven't had a chance to take any others recently.

Not sure how far away you are, but it would be cool to get them together for some pics. :)

Well I'm sure you probably did better than me when you got yours and took more than 3 (that I can find so far) :banginghead: :banginghead:

Where's the time machine when you need one to go back to "purchase day" and take hundreds of pics? Oh well, I still have my memory bank which does fail me sometimes after a few shots of rum.

ImEvil1 11-11-2007 12:07 PM

Don't feel too bad....I took a bunch of my FHP car on auction day, and I recently came across them while looking for some other pics. Now, I can't seem to find them!

I don't have any pics of when I bought the silver notch....and I kick myself repeatedly for never thinking of taking any more pics of in-service FHP cars when I was working.
