1983 GSP Mustang (un)marked
Found a undercover GSP Mustang listed as Dark Brown.
VIN # 1FABP26F0DF218167 Will be interesting to see if it is a SSP or not. I have Perm / Badge & Post #'s also. Would love for this car to turn up one day! Will be trying to make contact with the officer that drove it Friday evening when his shift starts back. ( Hoping he'll have some pics! ). |
Awesome! That'll be fun tracking down whether it's an ssp or not.
I also found 2 undercover 1992 Alabama coupes that we had but I don't think they were ssp's. One thing that I found in the 17 folders of the marked units, was they taped spare keys to the back of the folders. And looking in the folders for the 2 undercovers, there was two keys instead if just one. So that leads me to believe they weren't ssp's. |

I'm gonna get a Marti report on it just to see. I'd also like to do a Vin check just to see if it's still around... Brad, I think you like this stuff as much as I Do :-) LOL |
It is a single VIN, i.e. not in a group of two or more consecutive 5.0L coupes. Autocheck and Carfax each show 1 record, which is probably just the "manufactured and shipped to dealer" entry in 1983.

We got a Marti report ordered... Hopefully it is a SSP and we can get it into VIN Project... |

Your right Bobby, I do enjoy it a little. Researching these cars is half the fun I think! |
The dark brown for that model year was 5U Dark Walnut Metallic.

Remember Single Key was an option not always taken. Texas DPS did 2 key in 90.

Holy Smokes, Bobby! I hope you saved the PDF as a text file so you could copy and paste all of that information. If not, it must have taken you a while to type all of that out manually. Let's see if I can attach the report here as a PDF...

I spoke with Roy Lee Hendrix yesterday. He was VERY fond of this brown GSP Mustang. In fact he has a 8"X10" picture of it hanging on his wall. He also has a plaque type trophy from a car show in 1984 which he entered it in.
|
Forgot he had a nickname for this car the "Lil Brown Mule"
