Ripon 2014
Hello to all... CHP #8336 will be attending this year along with the new complete restoration of CHP SMPV #5300 !!
|
Has there been a attendance count started for the 2014 year Ripon Car Show? My registration is submitted and will be there saturday morning along with Rich.
|
We'll be heading over to Ripon early tomorrow afternoon for the Friday evening festivities. At the CHP show last week John's S. T. & B. plus Eric G. all confirmed to me they'll be there. I surmised that John P. is a strong maybe. Even though Harold T. and Jack G. won't be making it, there will be a very strong showing of SSPs. I've heard that as of last night there were 84 pre-registered entries so another record breaking attendance is now within reach.
Bring your sunscreen and plenty of water as 95 degrees and abundant sunshine is forecast for both Friday and Saturday. Safe travels to all and see you there! |
Good luck Michael. Enjoy the show and as always we look forward to the pictures.
|
UPDATE: new record 103 vehicles pre-registered as of this evening. :2thumbs:

Wow that will be a lot of cars for a show such as this.
|
I wish I could be there for the debut of Ken's SMPV. Congrats on getting the car together. Please take plenty of pictures.

Wow, the weather wasn't the only thing smokin' hot today in Central California. The 24th annual edition of the Ripon EV show was a record breaker with 150 total entries and 14 entries in the Special Pursuit Package Class with 9 Mustang SSPs and 5 Camaro B4Cs. The heat took a toll on humans and machines alike but all enjoyed the spectacle and camaraderie today.

I was also able to make some CHP contacts at the show today and received information that may provide a treasure trove of in-service information and documentation about my car. I'll post more about that in a separate post. Rest of my photos here: http://public.fotki.com/Classicchp/c...ripon-ev-show/ Working on uploading a video I shot of the Code 3 parade to YouTube. |
wow.....you west coasters know how to represent our hobby well !!!! Nice looking cars and it looks like a great show. I WILL make it to that show some day.

Very nice! Thanks for the pics for us East Coasters that never get to attend such an awesome event!
Cars look great! Glad Ken was able to get the SMPV out finally! It's been a long road for him and well worth it! :2thumbs: |
Really like the color on the SMPV...is that some type of custom color that was used? Any interior pics of it to share? Thanks.
|
FINALLY, #5300 made it to its first car show. It's been a long time in the works but it finally happened. I had a great time, but think we all could have done with out the heat. Many thanks to everyone.

Ken, can you or anyone else post up a pic or two of your interior? Looks like I was remiss and didn't get any. Also, what's the shade you painted?

Here are a couple other pics of the show. I can't hold a candle to taking pics like Mike lol He's a pro at it ! I took more videos on the GoPro than pictures. Can't seem to be able to post them.
It was so hot, I didn't do the code 3 run. no way ! I sat in the shade with the light breeze ! lol Great showing of SSP's ! Lots of new ones this year ! |
Yeah, plenty of vintage cars sat out the parade mostly due to the heat. My YouTube video is now up - an impromptu shoot from my wife's iPad while we were enjoying some ice cream on the sidelines with John B. who was also letting his '93 CHP take a break:

Cool cars and pics! :2thumbs:

I went with the 90 Mustang Light Crystal Blue (MA). Also, I could never find any solid info or a clear photo of the shotgun mount so I came up with something that worked.http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps3aaf4a1f.jpghttp://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps23e116ac.jpg

WOW that is a great job...fantastic! Love the color combo, too. :2thumbs:

Nice job on the interior, Ken! I understand the interior had basically been gutted to make it a race car, so you've come a LOOOONG way with it. I like what you did with the laid down shotgun rack, too.
