1 Attachment(s)
just a few "quality" cars I have owned in the past, or currently own now.

Some of which I have restored, some of which are works in progress, some of which are cars i bought then tweaked to get them closer to being "correct".

now feel free to post up your own version of "quality" ..........

:)

Jim,

You will never get that 5 minutes back, dude. I wouldn't waste time responding to it. I've seen your RESTORATION work first-hand.

calimustang 06-26-2011 11:35 AM

Wow beautiful ssps!

I have met that 92 CHP before in person, unbelievable sharp just like if it rolled off into service from being equipped! It brings back awesome memories of them being in service and seeing them flying 100+ past me on highway with lights blasting.

what are those ssp's? #3, #4, #6 and #9?

i believe #3 is 1986 Idaho State Police?

NoDrama43 06-26-2011 11:43 AM

#3 (X) car is Idaho State Police 1986
#4 (X) car is Missouri State Highway Patrol 1988
#6 (X) car is Santa Clara County California 1991
#9 (X) car is Florida Highway Patrol 1993

thanks for your interest.

MOstang 06-26-2011 11:44 AM

LOL yeh I know but I felt compelled to put up some pictures.

and thanks for the compliment about my work. :)

Jim, when I suggested the creation of this section, your SSP's were one of the reasons behind my idea. I haven't dug through your photo hosting folders, so seeing your cars in one thread is really cool. Some of those cars I'm seeing for the first time, and they look great!

:2thumbs:

OMG -- Can you say awesome?

NoDrama43 06-26-2011 01:26 PM

there are a couple of cars there I wish I had kept but I had different plans for the collection. Now that I have the ones I want I have a ton of work to do to get them all in the condition I like them to be in.

I thoroughly enjoyed loading up that 84 car yesterday and going to the show. The car is a blast to drive. Before I put the light bar, spotlight, and antennas on it Friday I took it out for a drive. I put about 20 miles on the car and even the cruise control works great. It is a solid little car that desperately needs a paint job. I was amazed at all the people that stopped and took tons of pictures of the car. It made quite an impression on many people. I guess the little double pancake light bar earned its keep. :)

In the early years of my collecting these cars (mid to late 90's) I learned that I enjoy finding these cars, researching the history, and puttering around the barn working on them. I am perfectly happy when I am in the barn taking one apart, refurbishing parts, installing equipment etc. Some people would rather be out driving them and going to shows and that is fine also. To each their own.

Well said Jim !!!! Our cars means different things to each person and how we enjoy them is no different !

You have had and still retain many that make us want more of these automobiles and I think all of us with wives or better halves will agree it is like a sickness for us, and we need "HELP"

"Thank You" for what you have contributed to the SSP Hobby !

SparkSVT 06-26-2011 02:17 PM

Jim

Really nice cars. I hate to be a pain in the ass but is there any way I could see more pictures of that marked FHP car you pictured? Id love to see interior shots if you have them.

Thanks

Chris

I can attest to the quality of this car, as I bought it from Jim (it is also the source of my name on this site). I put 14k miles on it and sold it to a collector in WI. :D

GSPI 06-26-2011 10:39 PM

Very nice to see that extensive of a collection of vehicles. One from every year no less.

You know what the funniest part of that "discussion" is? The OP referred to Ron as the "enforcer" in the pic he posted, not Jim, or anyone else here. That's what we call a "clue". :D

For the record, for the millionth time, no one here has any problem whatsoever with participation in parades and sanctioned events. The problem is the extra-curricular nonsense in the parking lots, staged pursuits, fake traffic stops, constant playing with emergency equipment, and general lack of good judgment exhibited by a select few (i.e. driving down the shoulders of our great highways).

Thanks for posting the pic....it was good for a another laugh.

NoDrama43 06-26-2011 11:35 PM

excellent.... thanks for posting that one up. Maybe someone is paying attention ????? We definitely don't need no stinking sirens....

I think that car looks really good in that picture. I also like the tag. It's a hat I will wear with pride.... lol

Remember...this is a work party. We are going to tear down my '85 and get it ready for paint.

You might want to stay awhile.

Point A to Point B is where I'm going you are somewhere inbetween... how long it takes to get from A to B via the Cincy area is another story.:2thumbs:

I decided to stay with the lights that Mike had installed. Hard to justify spending to the Wife when I've been out of work for 16 months (getting approval for the quarter windows was hard enough).

NoDrama43 06-27-2011 09:41 AM

I would have liked to keep (X) quality car #5 but after purchasing it "legally" (bill of sale, signed title etc.) I soon realized there was so many things wrong with it I lost interest. I only "legally" owned the car 10 months but I made several nice improvements to the car. It still meets my definition of "quality" though....

ahh gotcha. I just picked one up the other day and thought you might be interested. Send me a picture if you have one, of the correct version you need.

more Komedy this morning. Now the story has progressed to "Mr. Young never "legally" owned the car.... Is that the same as never "legally" owning a condo if it's financed by Wachovia??? I always thought a signed bill of sale and a signed notarised signature on a title meant something? i adressed it a couple of posts above this one. Time to scan some archived car purchase documents and post them on youtube??

incredible bro..... the hits just keep on coming..... :)

I was wrong on this car. I saw the color and thought it was the 86 LX coupe that I had bought from Jim. Today I noticed the aero front and tail lights. I was right in saying it was a great car though.

28HopUp 06-27-2011 11:03 AM

Seeing how this thread rec'd a new name, it's apparent that the intention is now to include the quality SSP's of any and all members here. In that light, I looked for a picture of my 85 CHP that I had not published here before. I found the following picture, which I thought was fitting for the upcoming holiday weekend -

http://www.mustangcollective.com/ima...89a122f2be.jpg

That snippet is part of the header from that forum's Collective Stang Of The Month back in July 2009. Usually, the CSOTM is voted upon my the members according to the category, but that month the Collective Staff selected my car in honor of our military and law enforcement personnel. I greatly appreciated the honor.

So does anyone else have a picture of their car they'd like to post here?
