Very clean.
http://forums.corral.net/forums/show....php?t=1046633 I think the seller is the infamous center cap guy. |

Jim Y. has an 84 WSP that was blue from the factory, so it could be legit. Most of the OSP and WSP cars were white, but not always. :)
|
Im going to buy this one if its still up for sale
I sent an e-mail and will call him in the morning. Looks like a good car. Does anyone know the seller? thanks Charlie

Not trying to steer you away from buying the car, but just letting you know how the seller is. |
Ok Thanks

whatever you do.......go look at it.
look closely at it. be careful with this seller |
$200 each for Center Caps?!!!!!!!!!
Read the forum, WOW is all I have to say.
|
making arrangements to buy
I will likely buy next week. All seems well so far, I think the issue before was about price, not the quality of the goods. The price on this seems fair. I shall see the car next week but I dont see any issues with the quality so far, Charlie

Charlie, find out the VIN # for us would ya? And, does he have pics of the buck tags or door label? I halfway wonder if this really is a WSP commercial enforcement car - which would be pretty rare.

It's not a coincidence that he is selling an SSP car that isn't listed on either site for sale. |
Charlie
If you get the vin. I may have another autocheck report available I could run for you. Like Mike said look the car over thoroughly. The number one thing not to do is let emotions take over when buying a car. |
pictures not clear
Cant get close up of the door tag and buck tag in the pics. I will ask him to send vin #. I know there is a chance this is not an SSP but if not it is a good replica. As long as car is in good condition thats ok. He says he has title in his name and will drive it down for delivery. Charlie

I will bet that it isn't as nice in person as it is in the pics. Please keep us posted, though. |

This is an exact match to an 89 SSP that I remember. when I graduated UF I tried selling cars at Fountain Olds-GMC truck, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, dihatsu on the south Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando. There was a retired Hialeah cop that worked there named Al Kettner. He was a great guy and drove an SSP in these EXACT colors, 5 speed, no power equipment, etc. Just the basics. I was unaware about SSP's way back then, I just know the car hauled serious a$$. Al had the lot boy wash the car every Weds. and Sat., it always looked good. Al knew the fleet guy down at his old department and that is how he got the cars. When the 90's rolled in he ordered a Wild Strawberry red metallic SSP with titanium interior and went with power options and the auto. trans. He told me he would sell me the blue one for payoff, it had like 10k miles, he garaged it at home. I didn't know much then, had a payment on the 67 Thunderbird at the time and sucked at selling cars so had low income and couldn't get approved. He sold the car, can't remember to who, etc. and when I left the dealership in December 89 he was driving the really good looking WSR car. I lost touch with him and the car, I often think it would be neat to come across one of them though.
I have somewhere a pic of me in the dealership lot standing next to my Thunderbird. In the space behind me is the blue SSP of Al's. It is a polaroid and I will dig it out, have it scanned and post it up. Anyway, long winded I know, but just brought back some good memories. |
This is a very nice car... Great colors and very clean appearing.

My Vin #
Ok Here it is: 1FABP40E5JF172231
Can anyone do a check? Please post if so. Thanks Charlie O' just realized you have on other page. Thanks Predator-20 I shall continue the with deal. |
he posted more pics. looks like it was a city car vs a state car.
also includes the rare spray can cap to designate it an ssp...... |
Don't laugh, I also found a similar paint can lid under my carpet. Under the black overspray on one side and white on the other it says "Chip's". Must have been a popular way to i.d. special units on the line and some of them got tossed into the vehicle (along with other garbage) before the carpet went down.

This car is a very clean car... the only defect is the paint on the front of the hood (bugs and tar area). It was at the Hebert's car show in Shrewsbury, MA next to Pete's FHP and my TX DPS. Worth a look for sure... VERY clean! Have a few pictures from the car show (http://5pt0joe.ftumusic.com). After seeing it, it's a great price IMO. When I asked him about price, he told me that he was "hoping to get 9 for it"
|
hopefully the car is nice and it gets a home with a caring owner.
|
It will

the answer....
Mike your storage issues are solved !! No need to deal with siting and zoning etc.
I have room to store it for you. I would also take it round the block a few times a month to keep everything in good shape. :) |

Payment arranged
I now have everything arranged with the bank and John (seller) and will arrange delivery by next week. I have been trying to find a good car since I joined and Im glad I waited. This is a lifetime car for me. It symbolizes the great police mustangs and also my friend and mustang instructor as this car is identical to his. A little paint for the roof and hood is all I need to finish it.
If there is another identical car as nice as this one I have never seen it. Charlie |
