Going to pickup my new future project in the morning! A 87 THP 4 Hour drive one way but the price is right... Give more details when I return...

Congrats. BTW, are you related to Jim Y. in any way? :bouncy:
Really... that list you got keeps growing!!

what year is the Nevada car?????
Jim, it's an 88 and belongs to a member here:
http://www.specialservicemustang.net...ead.php?t=3207 I'm surprised it hasn't sold yet. I wouldn't mind grabbing it myself, but I can't swing another project right now. |
I also inquired on that car and Mike S was knowledgeable and we talked about other NHP cars out there too. I've seriously thought about it and had to take a different approach. What I'm looking for is an SSP that is Blue and Rare... seems appropriate! Makes the list small at times but that would be Nevada and Kansas from what I'm thinking.
Must be a inside joke because I dont know who Jim Y is?... But you all have to understand These are project cars (not even in the same price range as the one mentioned.) I love them and really like saving them. When I was a kid my Dad fooled with the old stangs. So, naturally so do I. These cars are like the fastbacks and Boss and shelby's that were at the time too ruff to fool with. Who wouldn't love another chance like the ones we've all seen in the past? I'm gonna try and get any SSP in ruff condition that I can while I can. (I might get bored on day) If not somebody will eventually be willing to build these neglected ones... And they want be KIA'S... LOL. P.S. The ones I currently have aquired will be built! The Georgia car turned out to be the possible Cobb Co. car. So I still would like to find a "RUFF" GSP car to build...

But it's a real ugly blue and I'm a Buckeye from Ohio and have to work in Michigan. What do you expect?? I'm trying to erase the image in my mind!:D
Ok, I just know that the MSP5114 SSP that MOstang has now was done so well that I'm not sure any of us could try to match it. On the other hand, Kansas is not so common and neither is the Nevada car. I like the Nevada car actually best but the Kansas car is something I hadn't thought about. |

Any neat tricks to find the unit # for the Texas cars? Like the one for the CHP(written in paint pen above the door sticker). Just hoping!! Vin # 1FABP40E9HF228178 |

It's sometimes weird the way things happen... I saw a 140 certified calibration cluster on E-bay and no one was bidding yet. So, I put a $65 bid on it ($10 shipping), You know just in case... Well I was soon outbid and just forgot about it. Almost a week later I looked back on E-bay and seen a "second chance offer". It expired in 2 hrs. So, I clicked on it and payed with Pay Pal. Well for several days the money never cleared. I then got a message from Hunter saying his wife set up his Pay Pal all wrong (thats why the other bidders got scared and canceled the transaction). He told me he was gonna send me the cluster and once I recieved it and was satisfied to send him a money order... I naturally agreed. I then ask about the car it came from... He told me he sold it to a kid for $500 but he didn't think the kid was gonna be able to restore it and if I offered him(the kid) some kind of profit, he'd probably sell. He gave me the kids # and the rest is history... I almost didn't bother asking, but man am I glad I did!!!
I am glad you saved it....and sorry to hear that the guy started to kinda part it out. Good for you! :2thumbs:
Yea, motor, driveshaft & trunk lid are the only pieces included in the original add that I did not end up with. Hunter did bag and tag everything he took apart though! Even the trunk lock cylinder and latch!!! If I hadn't won that cluster there's no telling what would have happened to her. The kid was planning on pulling the pedals to do a 5spd swap on his 88 convertible!
Sounds like the SAVE came just on time!;) She's now off the parts car RADAR!!
Yeah, Nice Save! :2thumbs:

Well I guess I'm about to let go of this one.. A good friend of mine wants to put it back on the road and restore it while he drives it. He's no stranger to SSP's, he's the one I bought my 87 FHP from. So our plans are to swap the drivetran from his pretty much stock daily driver 5.0 coupe over into the DPS this weekend... Will post more pics after she's back on the road... He's supose to sign up here as well. He's lurked around for years but never signed up, so hopefully he will now...
Well M7-524 is back on the road... We finished her up around 5:00. this afternoon. Robby the new owner took her around the block for the first time in no telling how many years under it own power shortly after. Will post pics soon.
Congrats on getting it back on the road again!
Excellent! Can't wait for the photos!

Been meaning to post pics of this car for a long while now... Here it is at Paradise where it ran a 9.00 bone stock speed density, except gears in the 1/8th. About 90% of the body work is complete. Will be getting painted back black and white by spring...
