I came out of Headquarters today and saw this. I followed the guy and we were able to stop and talk. He is the original ower of the vehicle, FHP 1336. Car looks great and the owner loves it, he would not sell it. His name is Arthur and I gave him the web sight. He should be a member soon. Enjoy the pictures.

Wow can't believe it still has the in-service paint.

86NeSSP 08-21-2008 12:42 PM

That is very cool... Doesn't look as though it has been washed since he bought the car.

Unmrkd 08-21-2008 12:44 PM

Good stuff, what year model????

FHP813 08-21-2008 12:50 PM

No Ventshades!!! It's amazing how these cars continue to surface.

ImEvil1 08-21-2008 01:52 PM

No ventshades? Can it be?

Nice job of tracking it down, too. :)

Love seeing an unrestored and original car like that.

FHP813 08-21-2008 05:55 PM

I see tape stripe.

Nice... is that cream paint on both sides of the tape?

FHP813 08-21-2008 06:14 PM

Yeah, but I think it's just the tape peeling.

ImEvil1 08-21-2008 06:19 PM

I think you're right...good illustration of how they were taped off and the black sprayed.

jarhed123 08-21-2008 08:43 PM

Actually, the owner had a picture of the car as he bought it from auction and was completely marked with no mess on the paint. The most it had was a red spray painted line across the "State Trooper" and a red spray painted "X" on the seal. I hope he registers and posts that picture. Other than that, the car looked in service when he bought it. He is not in Law Enforcement, in case anyone was wondering.

What a rolling artifact...great find Marcos! Gives hope that there are still many original condition SSPs out there yet to be discovered. :2thumbs:

Didn't FHP buy cream cars and paint the black part?

The cars were painted at the factory. The bodies were all cream, but they were taped off and sprayed black.

FHP813 08-23-2008 10:08 PM

They used to spray black paint and now they're using driveway sealer to cover the tan before auction.

That thing is Too Cool! if the Blues Brothers drove an SSP that is just what it would look like!:D

jarhed123 10-28-2008 10:45 PM

I'm going to try and get a hold of the guy to see if he gets on the sight. Does anyone here need information from the car to verify anything?

Rhino 10-28-2008 11:44 PM

Awesome. Way cool seeing one - bet you freaked when you saw it rolling on the road that day. :)
