nebraska radio install
8 Attachment(s)
here are some pics from yesterday after getting my car back from having the radio installed.
i had the the original style motorola syntor with pa put back in. i got hooked up with a friend of a friend who has a 2 way radio business and does alot of the local p.d. contracts. wiring looks great IMO. tray went right into all the original mounting holes in the trunk. he also hooked up the sw300 to control the rotator bar i put on the car. siren and pa now work via head unit. he said due to the age of the radio, he didn't have the equipment to program it. It was bought on ebay and came from washington state, still has all thier p.d's in it. I'd love to get it working for some of the locals in a scanner mode. Cars getting there. |
Looks good, Russ.
Is the 300 what Nebraksa used or something that you added? |
excellent !! Nice to see the proper radios installed etc. I think having the correct equipment is the final icing on the cake to an SSP restoration. Great job.

the lack of pics, really sucks. i have the correct working motorola cb to put in-along with a working vascar unit for the console area. still looking for a regency m100 scanner to finish the equipment out. the top box on the radios is for the repeater, i still may run a coax from that to the repeater antenna which still needs put on. |
Looks great!

Just to clear this, Neb had made their own up an placed it in the opening where the coin tray was on top off the trans hump. The maintainence guy said it was very close to the SW300. I think I have a picture of it but it is not that clear, shifter in the way. |

I have some on disc, which is easy to post but no good picture of switch just interior. Russ you have that one. The others are pictures and I have to get it on disc which I don't know how as yet or scan it to computer. I'll try though.

I tried to install a scanner portion of my printer. Hope it will work.
|
I'm trying again. Picture was too large.

Still too large. I need more practice but in the meantime, can someone bring it to a smaller picture. Thanks

Great pic, George. Nice that it shows the repeater switch on the console, too.
So the switchboxes were fabbed up by the patrol? |

repeater in the Neb SSPs. Getting to talk to someone that remembers and isn't busy when I call takes a little time. I was told they did make thier own switch box. This research becomes very interesting and I need all the help I can get on all of my cars. Thanks for the forum Mike. |
anymore original pics?
i was told the wig wag switch was mounted to the left behind the shifter at the console edge. in the pic, it looks like there are two black switches mounted one on each end. i'd love to know what they look like etc! |

after further looking at the interior pic, the power mirror switch is what is mounted to the right of the console end. i was wondering where i was to mount mine, since my cars console is cut out! one problem solved! |

The main radio tray is a Motorola X9000, which is 1986ish vintage. I still have a computer that is old enough (read: 286) that will program them.
