those back seats dont look so clean

Anyone out there to see in person? The underside should be shown to. At 200K I wonder if the car can pass safety inspection

Vintageracer 03-22-2009 11:37 AM

What's a safety inspection? Pay sales tax, $20.00 for a license plate, get state mandated minimum liability insurance ($25K liability) and your good to go in Tennessee!

No doubt. Not quite so easy here in Texas metro areas either.

That one was advertised a while back for a similar price. I can't imagine there are too many running Sterns. I like. :2thumbs:

Jeeess if I could put that on the card I would. My condo would ban me for life as Im 1 over my limit now but the one matches my 91 LX and I cant help myself, These things are worse than crack for gods sake.

Those wheels are Speedlines, not cast Sterns.

guerro 03-26-2009 02:25 PM

The one piece Speedline wheel was introduced in 1993. They are often mistaken for the Stern wheels, as they are similar in appearance. The easiest identifier would be that the Speedlines do not have "Stern" stamped in one spoke. The fronts are 17x7.5 and the rears are 17X8.5. One spoke was ink-stamped "Saleen by Speedline" - a detail that is often missing when the wheels are re-finished. However, not all wheels said Saleen on the outside of the wheels (under the clear coat). Speedline wheels are stamped Italy on the rear on the rear of one spoke. Speedlines are more common than the Sterns. In comparison, there were only a couple of dozen Stern 3 piece sets imported and double that for the one piece Sterns. They imported many more of the Speedlines in both 5-lug for cars and 4-lug for catalog sales.

The Speedline wheel has also been reproduced by Wheel Replicas recently, at a much lower cost than originals.
