Marti Auto - Eminger invoices
For all of us four-eyed owners, Kevin Marti has released reprints of your original invoice for $60. http://www.martiauto.com/eminger2.cfm :claps: A must have to for those missing buck tags and door tags, like me.
|
Great news....thanks for posting it up. These are original invoices, so I'll definitely be buying them for my 4.
|
not sure how I missed this. I have a bunch of them to order too. I guess that is a good reason to get the titles alll put in my name. Be nice to see what this will bring to those of us that have cars they are not sure where they served.....
|
I'm getting mine as soon as I title it in Florida.

I had ordered my Eminger invoice from Marti over a year ago. They never charged my card, but they told me they hadn't gotten around to organizing the paperwork and were not able to look for a specific VIN. They called me not too long ago and said that the invoices had finally been sorted, and that they would look for mine. I was told that they would only contact me again if they didn't find it.
Well, yesterday's mail had a Priority Mail envelope containing the following: http://www.mustangcollective.com/ima...dca9f3f3ed.jpg I had to reduce the size to fit the parameters of my hosting site. Also, the right edge of the invoice didn't scan, but no data is missing - only the right edge tractor-feed printer holes failed to scan. I am so excited! With my 85 CHP misssing its 2nd Buck Tag, having this documentation in-hand is so cool. Aside from the CHP info, SSP specs, and the name of the original ordering dealer, I see that Ford charged $1.40/gallon for gas back then. :) |
Hallelujah !!!!!!!
That is great news. Hopefully they can start shipping more of these out now. I need to place an order for a bunch of them but I have been waiting for them to get the system up and running. That is absolutely the best documentation you could have right there. congrats !! |
I read today on the Marti website that there will be a "significant" cost increase for these on 9/01/2010.
As add'l information about my invoice, the vertical perforated holes in the middle of the invoice say the following: 7 24 85 DBNASY Would it be out of line to assume that my car was shipped on July 24, 1985 from the Dearborn Assembly plant? From my Assignment Card (VIN omitted on my pic), #8395 was put into service on April 4, 1986. |
I read that also. Their website is now advertising a 3 day turn around on these. I wonder if they are getting them out that fast? I need to order six and will definitely want to get them ordered before September 1.

Nice :2thumbs:. I wish they had these for the 90's era SSP's.
|
I just got off the phone with them and was told they are getting these out in 10 to 14 days. They also requested I let everyone know they want us to order them through the website. It is easier for them to process and they can be pulling invoices instead of talking on the phone.
I am glad to see this is finally becoming available. I am very interested to see what I can find out about the 84 dark blue unmarked car. |
Nice to finally see! Thanks for posting it up, Bill.

At the risk of sounding dumb, can I take my Eminger invoice to a place like Kinko's to make a good color copy for display purposes? I don't want to make an elaborate display board for shows, but I would like a small story board to explain what the car is when I walk away from it (which I do at shows - I prefer to look at other cars than hang around mine).
|
I kinda did the same thing with my buildsheets and other docs. I scanned them and made color copies for display. I'm going to keep everything small enough to fit on the dash, so if I'm away I can lock up the car and it wont be blowing around and hitting others' cars.

good news......maybe
Marti charged me yesterday for the Eminger invoice ordered 3 days ago. They told me they would only bill my card if the document was located.
UPDATE at 12:30 PM. wife just sent a text to tell me it arrived in the mail today ! The big question now is will this document tell me who used the car? This car is missing the door Vin label so the DSO is unknown. It should be on the Eminger invoice. The car was a solid color so no special paint information and only one buc tag. The information I was given by past owners is the car was a WSP unmarked. The car fax shows the car lived it's entire life in Washington after being taken out of service. If the DSO is the same as the other 84 that is really going to throw a wrench in the works as it was "allegedly" an Oregon State Police unit. This blue car was originally shipped to the same dealer as the OSP car (i already have that info). I am contemplating selling one of the 84 cars but I am doing a little research first. I am going to order the Eminger invoice on the other 84 also, then decide which direction I am going in. I like the car because it is originally dark blue. The next couple of days should be interesting.......:dunno: UPDATE: Well at 1:30 today i couldn't stand it any longer. I called the wife and she opened the envelope. Turns out I got some pretty good news. The DSO is the same as the 84 white car. 74-0291. The invoice says "State of Oregon" then lists all the options which are the exact same as the white car except for the blue paint which is also listed on the invoice. So it is apparent I have two Oregon cars, consecutive VIN numbers, one marked and one unmarked. This kinda stuff is why I enjoy this hobby guys !! I will scan and post the invoice this evening. |
Jim , Congrats !
WOW !!!!! That's great news my friend !!:2thumbs: :2thumbs: How lucky is that !!! It doesn't get any better than that ! ssp91ssp |

Here is the invoice. Good stuff if your trying to confirm the origin and use of the car. It looks like it was order number 1074-172E Placed 12/22/83 by the "State of OR". Pretty well equipped too. :)
|
Very cool Jim!!! Have you got invoices on the way for the rest of the early cars?

Good stuff! I'll be putting in the '83 CSP tomorrow to see what they have.
|
good luck... hope they have it !!
|
Congrats to all that scored these invoices, I'm envious!
|
No go for me (yet). They sent me an email saying my '83 CSP is in a batch that's "out of order" and that they will keep my order open in case they come across it.
Not a huge deal, since the car is so documented, but I still would have liked to have seen it. |
Hang in there, Evil ...

I ordered one for my 1986 this morning. I'd figured it would be a nice selling feature when I sell the car some day. Which may be sooner than later as I've been out of work since the first of March and there is not much of a demand around here for a Graphic Designer with 30+ years of experience. I'll probably try selling it at car shows locally starting next month before listing it on line after that.
|
Just received a note from Marti saying they are not able to locate my invoice, but they will keep looking.
|
bummer. hopefully they will be able to find it when they finish getting everything sorted.
|
I got a phone call from a rather nice female voice stating that mine also is not in the batch they have. Darn!!!!
