FYI, your plate number would have been "E408302".

ImEvil1 02-14-2007 02:35 PM

Chris,

If you get a chance to touch base again, mine is 0559. I have the full plate number on the registration at home, but I think it's 870559. Thanks.

SparkSVT 02-14-2007 02:59 PM

I think it could have been 42, also. I can't remember where I saw the pic, but I think I have a '85 at home with a 42XXXX plate on it.

Is there a way that it would be easier to read if they made a photocopy darker and then faxed that? Maybe they would be receptive to that request?
I would love to have the information from CHP on mine!

CHP8302

I can read it a little. I will scan it later and post it when i get home from work tonight. I can read that yours was in service 7-30-85 until 9-14-87 and had 85,608 miles on it at the retirement date. it also confirms it was black and white

SparkSVT 02-14-2007 03:23 PM

Mike-IMEvil1-

still no fax up from CHP as of this post. He is probably sick of me for one day. If it comes up Ill post right up..

SparkSVT 02-14-2007 03:34 PM

I just got IMEVIL's

its goddamn dark again. Of course ill post it up tonight when im home with my scanner but I can read that it was black and white, in service from 5-24-83 until 5-15-85

looks like it was sold at 85,225 miles..

Chris

mac88chp 02-14-2007 03:42 PM

Ahhhh, the good old days when they were retiring cars at less than 100k miles! :) In the '70s, they were letting them go at 65k miles.

SparkSVT 02-14-2007 03:50 PM

meanwhile my odometer currently shows 235,000 :Wow:

Chris,

Are you scanning these to post or can you fax them?

SparkSVT 02-15-2007 07:22 AM

Mike

Im sorry. I ended up working a little late and then I just was a little lazy after work. I can fax them if you have a fax machine today with no problem, im on 8am-4pm shift and faxing is no problem..Ill check my PM's today while at work for your fax number. You will see that some are rally dark and the bottoms of some of the cards were cut off when he copied them.Later on tonight ill scan them as well and email them to you. Sorry I dropped the ball, but I kinda laid around after work today..:(

Jim:

Would you prefer I gave you his email address or fax and phone number? I really broke his stones a bit yesterday with all thephone calls and requests...if not then ill fax him your plate numbers.

litsnsirn 02-15-2007 09:00 AM

If you are going to fax again, could you try:

No prob....do you think will guy will send the actual cards if we provide a SASE? I know several who have picked up their cards in person...wondering if he would be willing to do that. If you think it's a possibility, I'd be happy to give him a call.

I'll get you a fax number later today. Thanks,

Im not sure. I would be more than willing to give you his info and contact numbers if you would like to call him. If he does do this, maybe one of us could just get all the requested cards sent to one members address and that member can send them out to each car owner. Im just a little concerned he may get annoyed at all the calls and pestering im doing. Tell me what you think we should do, and if I can be of any help im here..

SparkSVT 02-15-2007 12:23 PM

Mike and Matt

I faxed your cards. Mike I faxed all of the ones that I recieved for your records..sorry that they are dark, thats how I got them..

Chris,

fax him my plate numbers and see if he can come up with anything. I think that would be better than having somebody different contacting him. you can fax the results (if any) to me or have him fax them to me at 513 724-3148. Did anyone figure out what the plate number on my 92 would have been??

ImEvil1 02-15-2007 01:58 PM

Chris,

I agree....don't want the guy to get too annoyed.

I got your fax...and I'll pass along Matt's info to him. My car wasn't in the fax (the last page didn't come through).

I think we could probably get him to send all of them to one person, and then distribute them out from there.

I nominate Mike to get these cards for us! Hell I'll even donate a few $$$ to him for the site for that if you can get the guy to part with the cards!

Matt

86NeSSP 02-15-2007 04:25 PM

Well at least I can confirm my plate/tag numer now! E408302

Woo hoo... The rest of the card is really dark. I wonder if the guy knows they were that dark when he sent them?

Matt

Does the 40 in the tag indicate what office it was issues to?

No...but there's a location code on the lower right hand corner that probably means something good. :)

Yours is cut off on the bottom on the fax I have...can't see what color they painted it, or the location code. 85,608 miles at the time of the sale, though.

Rob (ANDY):

I got your PM and will fax you what I have on your car.

Everyone:

I kicked it around with Mike (ImEvil1) and we came to the agreement that I will call and ask for the original assignment cards since I have allready talked to the guy . I would get them sent to one member and that member would mail them out to the car owners. We also agreed that we should compensate the guy for his time by maybe kicking in ( all of the persons getting their cards) and buy a gift card to the restaraunt of his choice. He seems like a good guy and helped me out without question so far but I dont think he unsderstands or really cares that we are restoring these cars. Nothing against him, like I said he has been great so far. Im sure he deals with a ton of CHP cars and to him the Mustangs are just another CHP car among many he has to deal with.
Does everyone agree to this? If so I will email him a request for our assignment cards. I think I should wait a couple of days to give everyone a chance to post up if they want to be a part of this. I probably acted to fast last time and I left a few key people out at first including Jim Young and the site owner Mike, which was not considerate on my end. I dont want this to happen this time around.

Chris

ImEvil1 02-15-2007 09:57 PM

Sounds good to me. Let's hope he is AOK with it and we can all get those originals. Maybe a $5 contribution from each of us for the card for his time and trouble (something that we wouldn't tell him about until after the fact)?

SparkSVT 02-15-2007 10:25 PM

heres what I got so far. Low quality faxes...
