86 UHP going back together

Had some cracks in the floor that had to be addressed before work could start. One of the cracks ended up being a thin spot on the floor that needed to be cut out. I think I got most of them. I will double check before the rest of the interior goes back in.

I had to cut the reinforcing plate.

Made a patch plate.

Crack going up trans tunnel.

That's all for now. Until the next installment...

the infamous fox body stress cracks. good job Bernie.

Well it seems that the area under the reinforcing plate was rusty so out it went. I'm going to the junkyard tomorrow to get a floor pan. The plate was not welded to the side of the floor closest to the door. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be but It defeats the purpose if it's not. It's easier to replace a big section of the floor than to keep making small patches. I'm also thinking about getting some subframe connectors to prevent any further issues.

I gave up on the floor for now. Moved on to the charcoal trim. I'm going to start working on the bright trim next.

Man this car has come a long way. This must have been the whore of SSPs, everyone had it at one time or another and no one made it a respectable lady. Bernie, have you gotten the crabs yet?

Looking great! For a second I thought you had put a fart can muffler on the driver's side!

It sure is coming along great Bernie. I wish I had your patience and know how to do that kind of restoring, the right way.
