FHP 1118
does anyone know who owns this car and if it is for sale Thanks
|
Tried to buy the car from a guy that had it in NC...made a great offer he refused listed it on Ebay twice then sold it for less than what i offered. This was at the time the auction neared ending...I think it then was bought by a dealer. PM me for any specific questions, I know the car well.

I remember seeing it for sale awhile back.
|
i think a dealer in the carolinas had it for sale.
do a search and it may pull up a post with thier website |
The dealer has it. He is asking about $16,000 for it, last time I checked. I contacted him and he has all documentation for it. I will double check, but if you google FHP 1118 and go through the results, I believe it comes up. I inquired about the car about 3 months ago. Thought the price was a little steep.

Wow, that price just keeps going up and up and up. I bet if they are the ones who bought it in Jan. they will be willing to deal on it now. Kind of a limited market on full marked out Police cars.

On both of these auctions the seller was "hotrods and customs"

The car looks nice, but has the wrong lightbar on it and no equipment inside (except for the wrong switchbox). I'd pass for $16K. |

key word being "DEALER". no way is that a 16k car. |

Update on FHP #1118

Hi Guys, I own FHP #1118 (1992 SSP). I did not purchase on ebay as noted above in this thread so not aware of that situation. I'm a collector and dealer in Mustangs. As you probably know, finding a clean, unrestored and original SSP car is very difficult. This one has 26 in service photos to document the type of lights such as Tomar's in the rear; lightbar; decal locations; antenna locations; etc... We have enjoyed taking this car to cruise-ins and car shows -- always an attention getter. We hooked up the PA300 siren. Purchased the Kuston K10 radar. We are still look for the radio/speaker to install. The car just runs so well and A/C blows ice cold -- which is needed on days like this. My first day out in the car I pulled up to a highway patrol road block -- that was an interesting conversation -- but after a few good laughs and the officers admiring the car they said just move on and enjoy it. So, the car is listed on my website at www.ClassicAutoRides.com for sale. If someone is really interested in an original, unrestored FHP then this would be the car for you. I've been offerred $13k but at that price I will just hold on to it and enjoy it for awhile.
By the way, great job from all the contributors on this site. It makes collecting and learning about these rare cars a lot of fun. Take care, Greg Also, I attached one of the in service photos from 1994. |
Greg,
Thanks for the kind words. It is a nice car, and with some improvements, would probably get close to what you are asking for it. Some of the harder to find parts, such as the correct lightbar, JSS switch box, and the rear Federal (Tomar) deck lights are going to be difficult to locate (and costly) and that may turn off a potential buyer at your current price. My .02. |
