was this car a solid black unmarked with a 5 speed or was it originaly tan and black?

SparkSVT 07-06-2009 06:24 PM

Thats a lot of cash.

ImEvil1 07-06-2009 08:33 PM

If anyone calls and can get the last 6 of the VIN, shoot me a PM. I may have some info on this car.

ImEvil1 07-06-2009 10:17 PM

Got the VIN via email from a member. I was at the auction that this car sold at in 1999.

I thought, for a second, that this could be the black, unmarked 5 speed that sold that day. This was a marked car, however.

Lot #244, Unit #801. It sold for $5400. My notes list mileage at 78,519, and "repaint, left fender".

That's quite a profit.

I feel that is one of the worst things a person could do to these cars. Everything else outside of tubbing and cages can be put back to appear stock. Without the holes, it's a guessing game and steals alot of character.
I have gone on a somewhat extensive hunt for the red dash out of my car but no luck.

Sorry, rant over.

it better be a real nice car to bring that kind of cash.

Evil, excellent info. Pretty cool that you went to all the auctions.......and kept the info for years down the road to help identify the cars. Depending on how nice the piant is on this car a person could paint the tan, decal the car and install equipment.

still alot of cash.

Hi Mike, I sent you an email last night about a car I purchased -- 1993 FHP #801. Note: Not the car in this thread. So, I believe the information you referenced is for my car which is still stock as it left service -- with the gatorbacks and all the documentation.

Just wanted to bring this to your attention in case someone was looking for this.

Greg

Thank Greg, and sorry for the confusion. I asked for the last 6 of the car above and I thought that's what you sent me. :)

Congrats on your purchase, and I'm glad I was able to help with the info on it for you. What are your plans for it?

Anyone happen to get the last 6 of the black car above yet?

Hi Mike,
No problem. I really appreciate all you do for this site and promotion of the hobby. In regards to '93 FHP801, well I can't stop driving it for now. Just getting back from the Carolina Regional Mustang Club meeting and having fun with the car. Unlike my '92 FHP1118 which is marked, I'm debating on keeping the car as is or dressing it back up in the decals/lights/etc.. But for now it will just be just fine to drive and have fun -- as you know these cars are attention getters.

Take care,
Greg

Is this your car? Did you buy it from a guy named Ed?

Classic Auto Rides 07-08-2009 08:45 AM

Hi Smokin5.0
Yes, this was Ed's SSP ('93 FHP #801). He is a good friend and rarely let's one of his mustangs go. He purchased in December 1999.

Very nice car Greg. Thanks for posting up the pics.

jarhed123 07-09-2009 09:49 PM

Very nice. I am sure someone will take it from you in a flash.

ImEvil1 07-09-2009 10:08 PM

Nice ride, Greg, and I don't think it's for sale, Marcos.

I still haven't gotten the VIN on the black one, and I haven't had the chance to call during the day myself. If anyone gets it, please shoot me a PM or email so I can see if it's the unmarked one we talked about before.

jarhed123 07-09-2009 10:36 PM

I emailed the guy for the VIN also but no response
