WTB: SROD 4 speed

Against my better judgement I've decided to forgo the T5 and put an SROD back into my 83 SSP. Since it won't be raced I think one will hold up fine. I have nothing in it right now, so I need the entire setup. Let me know what you guys might have lying around.

you have an 83 ssp? I must have been sleeping.....where is it from? are there pics anywhere?

He has the unmarked NC car. Pics in the in-service gallery here.

I have an extra case, but no internals. Have you tried posting for one over at 4EP? I'm sure you can find one there pretty quickly.

A few more weeks and this one is on it's way to lend some parts. Just not my 4 speed!

There he is! Jon it's all your fault that I'm in search of an SROD. You've convinced me to keep it original. Hey... thanks for the pic too!

WAKE UP DUDE!!! LOL! Yeah it's hiding out in my shop behind other Mustangs of various status. I started a web page last year but never finished it. I promise to get it done and live soon. There's quite a bit of history to share with you guys.

Browse through this folder in order and you'll see a timeline of my car over the years and a few cool articles I dug up. Feel free to use the pics and info for the greater good of SSPs everywhere!

I'd like to find an entire setup since I have nothing in it right now. I do have a posting in the wanted section of FEP, I figured I'd have lots to choose from, but not so far.

Thanks for posting those..the articles are great!

How did you find them?

CNTLOSE 08-04-2009 06:05 AM

Great articles and photos...Thanks for sharing!

mustangpro 08-04-2009 08:57 AM

Happy to share guys! I found these articles in the "Google News" search. They actually have a few newspapers archived. I did notice some articles from FL, OR, GA, TX and CA for '83. The keywords I used were "83 patrol Mustang". Some you have to purchase, but most were free. Happy searching guys!!

Thanks much!!

Check out the pic I found of an '83 FHP car. This happens to be from the Gainesville Sun, of a Gainesville car.

Thanks for posting...some pretty neat articles to read.

Nice pic there, I like the angled fender lettering very cool.

chp1982 08-04-2009 08:41 PM

I hadn't had the chance to check it out, but was hoping there might be some new pictures. What is the deal with the crooked fender lettering?

chp1982 08-04-2009 08:49 PM

I checked out some pics from the gallery and they are parallel to the ground. The above picture looks a little odd because of the angle of the car.

The good news is that with your magnetics you'll be able to adjust them with ease! I do vinyl lettering quite a bit, and in my opinion I would've followed the contour on the car. But that's me.

Anybody found me a tranny yet?? :headscratch:

CHP 3705 08-05-2009 09:26 AM

If you find one just make sure it's for a Fox body and not a Mustang II. They look the same but they're not. Doug

Very good advice. I think I have some tag ID numbers around here somewhere for reference.

mustangpro 08-14-2009 12:09 PM

I've secured 2 complete SROD setups, and one is from an 83!!

Thanks everyone!
