1993 NCSHP SSP on eBay

Not my eBay listing.

A post on .Org indicated Jeff Allen recently sold his 93 NCSHP. I'm assuming this is the one as his was a 93 NCSHP repainted silver and black with red pinstripe, red interior and a Whelan lightbar. Jeff had also displayed his at car shows in cities mentioned in the eBay listing. I believe he had listed it on Auto Trader for $6,000 but I'm assuming the current owner has a Reserve set higher than that amount.

Would be a nice NCSHP candidate for someone to enjoy and finish off with the correct equipment. My history and restoration guidebook will be a big help in that endeavor. I believe Jeff had it stripped all the way down when it was repainted silver & black. He had all of the service records for it from new at the NCSHP as well as from the Albermarle PD, who picked it up after the NCSHP.

I don't believe the NCSHP ever put a Whelan lightbar on a Mustang based upon the feedback from my NCSHP contact. In those few instances where they did use a lightbar, Code 3 ones were initially used. I understand the first lightbars put into service by the NCSHP (circa 1990) were Code 3 manufactured. Those were utilized approximately four (4) to five (5) years before the NCSHP began the NCSHP purchasing Federal Signal Jetsonic lightbars (circa 1993 – 1994).

Could one of the Moderators move this to the For Sale section for me please? Sorry for putting in wrong location :).

No problemo.

Thanks Bernie. Bidding is presently north of $8k and climbing with Reserve not hit yet. Was listed for $6k by prior owner when on Auto Trader recently.

FHP813 11-23-2009 06:34 PM

9k and the reserve is not met.

Another reason why the seller is banned from here.

NoDrama43 11-23-2009 08:03 PM

shame to see it keep happening this way but all that matters to some is the $$$$$

NoDrama43 11-23-2009 08:05 PM

looks like it was a pretty nice car for the 6k money.

Not sure how long ago when Jeff had it stripped and repainted, but from the various photos I have of his car the paint looked real good. That alone certainly cost a bit to accomplish. I agree a real nice car for $6K.

93 nchp

I don't believe this is the car from the autotrader. That one did not have all the equipment inside it just had a light bar. That is if you are talking about the one that was in Columbia,SC about 2 weeks ago.

The seller is posting about it on .org. This car is definitely Jeff Allen's old car.

Isn't funny how "someone" keeps bidding on these cars, driving the price up....then all of a sudden "the car doesn't sell" and then gets re-listed on e-bay over the next 3-6 months? Wondering if e-bay is looking into all this bidding action?

I have suspicions about this also. I think the MAGM Klub has a network. They bid on the stuff for each other, get it close to reserve, then hope that someone bids at the end and meets reserve. We have caught them doing it in the past. A dealer puts a car up and miraculously they get 20 bids in the first two days. We see this over and over. Ebay enabled this type of unethical behavior to flourish when they hid all bidders identity. It was the same situation in the days of the "private" auction. There are, however, a couple of ways to get around the ebay system to figure out who the shill bidders are and identify them.

My best advice is to not buy anything from certain dealers where you see this happening. They sell cars for a reason, and it is not to "further the hobby". Some dealers may not make a profit on the cars, but when you run all of the sales through your business name, any loss becomes a cozy tax write off, as do your expenses for travel, meals and other costs to attend vehicle sales/promotion/contest related events.

There are plenty of cars available from reputable individuals. I say to anyone looking for an SSP to just be patient and wait for the right car to come along.

I don't recall seeing a 'Buy It Now' option before so looks like that has been added at $12,500.

NoDrama43 11-26-2009 03:57 PM

double your money...double your fun ????

ImEvil1 11-28-2009 03:31 PM

Ended at $10,099, Reserve not met.

NoDrama43 11-28-2009 07:02 PM

4 grand profit wasn't enough ??? I am glad it didn't sell. Maybe people that like these cars are getting wise to the flippers that hurt the hobby.

DITTO!

Not my SSP, but this is same NCSHP SSP being relisted for sale again on eBay. Bidding ended last time at $10,099 without reaching reserve. Buy it now of $12,500.

NoDrama43 12-16-2009 10:44 AM

I doubt it sells this time either.

MOstang 12-17-2009 09:40 PM

Looks like the buy-it-now reduced to $10,900 from $12,500.

NoDrama43 12-17-2009 10:33 PM

guess 5k profit is ok after all....

MOstang 12-17-2009 10:38 PM

Doesn't help when the price of inflation on this one is well known. Not to mention someone will have to invest some time and money if they want to rework the equipment setup.

MOstang 12-26-2009 02:47 PM

Ended w/out meeting reserve...$7,701.25.

NoDrama43 12-26-2009 05:06 PM

guess he should have accepted the 10,900.00 from the last auction. (If it was an actual real bidder.)

I figured it would be tough to sell during Christmas week.

MOstang 01-08-2010 01:47 AM

not mine - back on eBay

Not mine but back on eBay again...no 'buy it now' option this time.

Ended at $9,001....if the original eBay listing high bid for this car of $10,099 was legitimate seller should have taken and run to the bank.

"if" being the key word. I think most of us have that one figured out.
