Nice find Jack. That's a rare one. Quoting the ad for posterity -

May have 2 confirm with buck tags. Vehicle usage for Louisiana State only shows 1986's,1989's and 1993's were used.

Maybe New Orleans? Didn't they use that color?

New Orleans was 92 and black. There have been a few Louisiana DSO cars in blue circulating around, but not state cars.

Go here, guys. I knew I had seen them in other colors besides white. Can't tell if this is black or blue though...scroll down for the older units and there's and SSP.

It may be an episode of Real Stories of the Highway Patrol, but I can just see in my memory a blue Louisiana State Patrol Mustang in a video of some kind.

The '89's were blue. One of the most attractive schemes of all SSP's, IMO.

This may be obvious, but becuase I'm curious and don't know will ask. What is the difference between the Louisiana DSO and State? Thanks.

Having a Louisiana DSO only means that the SSP would have been ordered through a dealership in the New Orleans region, not necessarily a state police issued car. There have been SSP's with a 26 DSO that ended up in service in Florida.

If it is a real LA car, then it's certainly rare. And then it would have to have the super rare rectangle unity spot light.....

I recently purchased this spotlight from unity. It is correct for the 89 LSP.

do you have an original "bakelight" handle for it?

Yes sir! Unity had everything. In all i got the spotlight, nos correct grip and a new mounting bracket. It was all quiet cheap.

LA State SSP
 

Can someone PM with a contact number as I am interested in this vehicle. While a member of the NOPD Highway Enforcement Unit we worked with a lot of State Police undercover units that were Drug Interdiction Units. The colors were black, beige, white so this might be one of those.

Thats the car for sure ,he never sold it but he wants to sell again. The car is at my shop. If anybody is intrested contact me and Ill get you in touch with him. Hes a Arlington P.O. so he works alot of hours.
