Bullet hole
2 Attachment(s)
I noticed this hole in the drivers door jamb just below the roof. It looked like it could be a bullet hole.
When I took the headliner out, I found the exit point above the headliner. You can see the mark on the roof where it ricocheted off the roof. I sent an email to the PD to see if they could tell me something about it. |
Can you say negligent discharge.
I looks like the door was open and the round was fired from an angle slightly lower than the roofline.
That's a bit of a wake up call!!?
Nice! First one of those I've seen here...
Fast way for Motorpool to make holes for running overhead light wires before putting car into service ?:D ?
Would be interesting to learn the story behind that one.
Ya. I put in a message to the PD. There is always a chance it happened after the PD sold it. But leaving the hole and having a cool in-service story to go with it would be pretty awesome.
sent you a PM OSP959(R)
No response from the PD.

Even if you cannot verify the events behind the bullet hole, it's obviously part of the car's past. Having a mysterious bullet hole in your SSP is still an interesting conversation starter. Still, I hope you can learn more about it.

You got that RIGHT !!!! |
Ya, that's definitely not something you fix. I'd like to create some kind of metal prop that would hold the door partially open, but not let people be able to move it, so I could let people see the bullet hole when the car is displayed.
I also want to search for the slug. I need to check the floor of the car, and the garage floor around the car. I need to check any spot it could have become lodged in. It's such an odd spot. I wish I could find out what the story is on it. |

They hold the door from the latch to the stryker well from the ones I've seen. good luck on that. |
