1989 MO SSP (mine) for sale

My wife and I have decided to sell the SSP. I've lost interest in car shows plus I just don't have the time anymore. So it's time for SSP to go, but like anyone who has sold a really nice SSP I want it to go to a good home! It is one of 13 1989 MO Mustangs and 5 of those were white. MO had 71 SSP's overall.

Our car has 96,000 miles, most of the paint is original and the interior is all original, the seats have been re-dyed. The emergency equipment on the car is 100% accurate and everything works. The car has Gatorbacks, an NOS H-Pipe installed last year along with a like-new OEM Ford cat-back exhaust. NOS Ford shocks/struts/dampers/springs were installed about 3 years ago. All the moldings are either original or NOS replacements. The quarter glass and headlights are NOS also. It has all the original body panels with VIN tags, except the trunk lid which has been replaced. I have the original lid it’s just rusted and a replacement was easier at the time. The car is beautiful and I'm not sure how else to describe it, so please ask me any questions if you are seriously interested. It will come with a pile of original documentation from the Missouri Highway Patrol along with some misc collectible stuff. It has magnetic emblems and permanently mounted equipment.

Email me directly at ecprince@sbcglobal.net or call/text me at 816-820-8264. I will add, please only serious inquiries. :-)

Asking price is $14,000. It is also listed on .org

HA! The NOS and OEM exhaust parts alone are worth a ton! Not to mention the new quarter windows! :-)

Thanks Jim! It'd look good in the museum.... :-)

Also included are a set of NOS emblems still on their backings directly from the MSHP so the car can be permanently marked. These emblems are non-existant today, they are the old style that would have been on this car.

If anyone wants any detailed photos of any part of the car, just let me know!

Uh-oh...

Wolfe1013 08-19-2011 09:29 PM

Eric, are you sure that car was in-service?? Dang she's pretty!

I like your magnets. What thickness are the magnetic backings. I like the way they contour around the curves of the fender and door molding.

Best of luck on finding a good home for her.

Greg

Yes, I'm 100% positive it was in-service. Retired with 57,000 miles from the Highway Patrol then used by a small town PD Chief. I bet there aren't many out there that are as original and in as good as condition as mine...with only 96,000 miles to!

Not sure on magnet thickness, they look like decals until you get up close to them.

A new car has been added to my favorite SSP list:thumbsup: Great color combo. White 87+ SSPs with that style lightbar are my favorite so far.
Now to find 14k :D GLWS:2thumbs:

That was my way of saying great job on the resto. She looks like she was never in service. :)

Best of luck.

As to Mustang Kid's comment, for some reason, I never liked these clear light bars with the colored filters. I know MO, TX, AZ and CO are a few that used the Code 3 Force 4LP/LP6000 light bars. But, since it's what belongs on my CO Camaro, I've grown to like them. I have the filters, but need clear lenses and my Force 4LP only has the two rotators each side. I've obtained the mini-takedowns/alleys, but still need the amber rear flashers. Got any extra parts?

NoDrama43 08-21-2011 05:41 PM

you can still buy the clear domes new. there are plenty of the amber filters on ebay.

Sorry, I sold all my extra LP parts awhile back. I've always liked the look of lightbars of any type with clear lenses and internal colored filters. I think it gives the car a sleeker look and the lightbar is less noticeable.

You are right, that's how cops kept busting me for speeding when i was young back then, i got caught by an Nebraska HP Aero P71 (1995-97's) with LP6000 lightbar and MO HP Caprice (95-96 model slicktop that is) i didn't recognize it until too late as he was by my drivers side as I was on 2nd lane then slowed down and went behind me and turned up his drivers side spot light steady burn red light, I'm done for. HA! He called me out of my car and go in his car on passenger side and pointed it to his radar, i said sorry? he bursted out laughing and gave me a warning. That time i was driving my first fox mustang which was 92 GT. That caprice sure was quick and got me off guard. He was a sarge or higher ranking, he had several bars on his shoulder arm. Guess I was on his good day to give me a warning, after i left, i saw a unmarked green camaro LT1 z28 pulled someone over, it was a unbelievable sight for me as of the fact it was my first time being on the road out of California.

Ok, here's the bottom dollar sale price....$11,000. I won't go any lower and if it doesn't sell, I'm stripping the car of all cop equipment and making a weekend fun driver out of it. :-)

MOstang 09-01-2011 10:16 AM

 that's one heck of a deal for someone.

This and the other SSP's are really PRIMO cars.

Folks I may be cutting my own sale, but I'm telling you this '89 is one nice SSP with all the right stuff and the price is VERY fair!

Thanks Gregg! Unfortnately it's just a bad time to sell, good time to buy of course though.

This FINE ssp is back on the market (ebay)by its new owner in Ohio. WOW!!!

GSPI 10-31-2011 03:41 PM

Gillingham Ford does resell many specialty cars. I just helped one of my friends purchase a 1977 Ford LTD police packaged vehicle from them and was a great experience for him (and me too as there weren't any games).

They like to get specialty cars in so that they have a neat draw to their showroom.

Bullitt1609 11-10-2011 02:35 PM

Just wanted to let everyone know that my Father and I have worked out a deal with Gillingham Ford on this Missouri SSP. I need to start checking on here more often.

If you remember, we also purchased the AL SSP and the TX SSP from forum members. Like those, this one was too nice to pass up. It will be well taken care of.

Jonathon,

From one '01 Bullitt & SSP owner to another, congratulations!! Best of luck. Can't wait for a group photo of your ponies.

Greg

Bullitt1609 11-23-2011 02:52 PM

Thanks Greg. The Bullitt stays in the garage most of the time (currently has less than 1,800 miles on it).

This car is a beauty! I can't wait to take it to various shows and events when it picks back up next year.
