Jet Sonic TX DPS Question
 

My 93 TX DPS came with a Jetsonic. The end cap name plates on mine are just brushed alum with black writing on them. I found another set (new) and the FS (fed signal) marking is in red and the rest of the writing is in black. What is correct for my car?

Yours are just faded. Check out the label on the in-service '93 in our TX section:

Yep the one in Red. If you don't have an Arrow Stick, I have one Brand New never used with the Deluxe Controller Code 3.

Hey Tom...I have an arrow stik but its not exactly like the one in the picture provided by Mike. Mine is pictured below. I hope its one of the correct types. Its stickered Texas Dept Public Safety with a serial #. Thanks again for everybodys help.

They used Code 3 and Federals. Yours is mounted a little high. I need to find Tony's picts of the car he rode in Katy.

Well good news! I bought a NOS set of outer covers(2), NOS rotators(4), NOS take downs(2) and NOS Jetsonic end cap emblems(2). All should be delivered Wed. afternoon. Thanks for everybodys help and I hope to have everything up and running in the next few weeks.

NOS Jetsonic parts installed. NO more cloudy covers! Rotators and take downs, lens and covers were easy. Hope to have it all hooked up and working this next week, with help from a friend who works for Whelen . Thanks for everybody input. Still have alot of work to do. Here are some pictures.

I wanted to bump this thread because I have questions about the DPS light bars.

I have read over the Agency doc on the DPS units. I've seen "Roman's" linked pages here too. I've seen the older "Fotoki" site with images of some TX DPS units. Ive come across Pinterest images... I've also scoured the internet tirelessly for any photos I can find of 1993 DPS only SSP's and I'm totally confused...

I see some 93 DPS units with the Code 3 "clear" light bar and I'm seeing some with the Jetsonic light bar - and I'm not referring to any DPS unit prior to year 1993, I'm speaking distinctively of those 1993 DPS units restored or old in-service pics.

Can someone school me on what IS the actual correct light bar for a 1993 TX DPS? Was there some recycling of light bars from the parts bins @ DPS as to what light bar was used on the 1993's?

Not only am I seeing the variance in light bars on the 93's, but those with the Jetsonic use, I'm also seeing some with or without the arrow stick too.

I'm trying to restore to 93 period correct but can't determine exactly what is correct (or not).

Plenty of actual in-service pics with the Jetsonic/arrow combo. I think you're good with that.

Post progress pics if you can. I know I'd love to see some and others would too. I don't think I've ever seen a restored '93 DPS car yet.
