1985 Mustang SSP 8419 on eBay

Hi everyone.

Money, space and time needs all dictate that it's time to sell my SSP. I have an eBay auction going as of this evening here:

A lot of you know about this car already, but here's a quick rundown:
• 1985 Mustang SSP, recent white/black paint, less than 117,500 miles
• Everything is pretty much box-stock, except for a Hurst shifter (which shifts really well, actually--the best of any of the Fox-body cars I've owned)
• CHP look-alike whip and rooftop antennas (rooftop is a hokey temp mounting used for shows--I would usually pull it off when cruising around). They go with the car.
• 2 white Spotlights are mounted. They are the newer, rounder type. (I never got around to locating CHP Unity S6 heads, but swapping head fixtures is really easy)
• I cheated a little on the respray and painted moldings black instead of the original gray
• Engine pulls super-hard. Still, carb could be cleaned and/or rebuilt to cure some minor hesitation. It's the stock carb.
• Car comes with 5 SSP steelies (spare still has what I think is a Gatorback on it)
• Car wears shiny, Escort hubcaps (but the 4 original hubcaps also come with the car)
• Car's provenance is well-documented: care comes with original Assignment Card AND an Eminger Invoice!

I think the eBay description covers pretty much everything I can think of, but shoot me an email or PM if you have more questions.

GLWS.

Looks like your description font size on ebay is extremely huge. Even zooming all the way out on my browser didn't show it all.:headscratch:

My dad has a bunch of those spotlight buckets that are from CHP cars. Looking at digging a bunch out, restoring them, and selling.

Best wishes...very thorough ad and nice pics! By the way, I did not have any trouble seeing your entire eBay listing.

Same here. Takes forever to load too. :(

Great ad! I stole some of your pictures to add to the VIN page we have already for your SSP. There were couple of mistatements in the body of your listing, which I only am offering up to help you sell your car:
  • You have our website address listed incorrectly. It's www.specialservicemustang.net
  • We confirmed that the original SSPs were not called 'Severe Service Package' cars when we were able to get a copy of an Eminger Invoice for a 1982 CHP Mustang. They were "Special Service Package" Mustangs from the very beginning.

Again, not trying to nit-pick but wanted you to have good information. :)

Also had trouble seeing the ad - fonts very large - browsing on a Mac with Safari if that helps.

I was using Google chrome and it still does the same thing. Internet Explorer seems to work fine.

Lots of pictures help sell the car:2thumbs:

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. All previews looked okay, but I'm using IE and Firefox. I'll login into eBay and see if it will let me make changes.

Thanks again for letting me know the ad wasn't viewable on some browsers. eBay had me re-list it. The ad is now here:

Says it's been removed now? :headscratch:

They had me take the old one down. The link to the new ad is here:

Good luck with the sale. '85-'86 CHP's are my favorites.

You wouldn't want to sell the car to two different people now would you;)

Sam,
If you or your Dad EVER start to sell any of your Dad's CHP equipment, I'll fall over dead ! LOLOL Seriously ! lolol

No problems viewing the eBay ad Nice ad by the way !

Sam... have any original CHP jumper cables stored away ?? I'll buy one set if so. You guys have to have 4 or 5 sets or more stored away somewhere. lolol

View-ability. They couldn't figure out the huge font issue people viewing the ad with Safari and Chrome browsers were experiencing. So after a long time on the phone, they said the quickest way to get the ad easy to view was to take it down, test it in Google Chrome (and modify as necessary) and re-post. At least it seems that people can read it now.

Seriously - Sam - when you guys going to sell some spotlights? :)

John - you can get the correct CHP jumper cables NEW from Amazon. Deka still makes them - and in the right SKU.
Picked up a set a few months back.

And likely faster than Sam will get them to you - ha ha ha!! :) j/k Sam. :)

LOL

My dad sold off a ton of restored Caprice spotlights back when he got a couple truck loads of stuff :D And don't forget you got the complete gun rack from us John ;)

We don't have any jumper cables anyway, just a couple of the pushbar mount type.

lol
