Sort of a new guy....
Hello, just wanted to formally introduce myself. Been on here for about a week now. I purchased an FHP SSP off ebay last week. Unit # 1537 from Troop L.
Owner had copies of wreck reports that it was in while in service. The Trooper backed into a sign in a parking lot on one. And then he was parked at a gas station and while he was inside, someone hit the passenger fender and left the scene. My plan is to drive it as is for a few years. I'll be gathering up all the equipment I need so when I retire, I can do a full resto on it. I've already bought a near mint Unity S6 and was actually considering putting it on. But I think I'll ride with the new version that's already on it to save the Unity for the Resto. You'll probably remember this car for sale since a link was posted to it here. The guy was using it to promote his security business and had it covered in decals. I wanted to wait until I could get the decals removed and have it buffed before I posted pics. And yes, I'm working on getting new "stock" headlights for it. Here's some before and after shots.... http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...psc2f44686.jpg http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...sf4470330.jpeg http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...s6b8d9089.jpeg |

Forgot to also say....this car is already in the VIN registry here. Last 6 are 158156....DSO 24 0304 |
Beauuuuuuutiful!

Looks great. I remember it saying that the floor was bedliner material. Any pics of the interior? plans to carpet it? Must be quiet in there!

Yes, I definitely plan on going with carpet again. I've been spending money this past week freshening up some of the maintenance items since it has 200,000 miles on it. Both upper and lowers had to be replaced since the bushings were toast. Clutch was toast. Plus the strut bushings were done also. But amazingly, the frame rails, shock towers, floors etc. were all in fantastic shape. Once I get it freshened up I'm going to start working on new carpet and headlights. |
Well, that makes things a little easier at least and carpet is relatively cheap. Nice car, keep the pics coming.

Looks sharp...caught my eye with all the decals but looks much better without em...

Thanks again guys!
Mods, would it be possible to move this thread or copy it to the 87-93 section? I have some good in service info and pics to add and figured you might want it in that forum instead of here? Or should I start another thread there? |
