1985 NCHP
*since it's finally herreafter transport hell and have confirmed it is what I thought it was. Friend found this before it was posted here and I bought it. I also originally thought Texas but as I got more info turns out it is NCHP car and looks to be all black. Confirmed with Marti report and vin is in vin project in same batch as the other 85 found recently. I haven't had alot of time since it got here I have a new 5 week old. But build sheet is under carpet and I am finding tons of cool things. Car is 1 family owned since out of servive and mostly original. Will start a build thread when I can and will be asking for help identifying a few things. I have been wanting a 4 eyed car and my buddy knew it and he found me a rare one. I believe the other 2 found are gray with red interior. Mine is black with blue interior. And yes all the rakes were removed and I didn't get any of the tiki torches. The car is no longer a shed . Maybe a moderator can move some of pictures here?? Please

This is such a cool car, glad it went to a good home. Can you post the Marti report for us? Curious how it was ordered.

If you can post a pic of the build sheet I can decode a lot of it.

If you look at date sold on report I think my unit # is marked by my firewall. Will post that on fotki

Interesting the blue stripe indicated...is that a pin stripe down the side?

Nice save John on a super rare car. I "bet" they ordered the cars all black and put the silver on them in house. does the car have screw holes in the rear quarterpanels at the decklid seam where the antennas would have been mounted?

For various years they ran both marked and unmarked (including plain black), but with the documentation from the NCSHP no longer being available will be challenging to know for sure. So to that end you'll likely just need to see if you can find any visual clues that might indicate or make an educated assumption and go with it. Either way it will be cool one to see brought back. The silver and black color combo is one of my favorites.

i just recently saw a NCHP door tag that had two paint codes, black and silver but it was a 90's car. My guess is they probably bought the early cars one color and then ford agreed to paint them two tone in later years.

Only year NCSHP that I have seen two paint colors was 1990...

Bill has a Marti report from 251180, posted here: http://www.specialservicemustang.net...&postcount=445
Don't know if it's still alive and if it is who owns it. Last time it was heard from was in TN in 1994. |

All the people I spoke with haven't gotten back to me with any info on car and I haven't been in garage in a month. Been thinking of ways to get build sheet off bottom of rug was thinking euther wet rug to get it to release or use clear taoe sheet stick to back of rug/build sheet and hope it pulls off. Any thoughts?
|
Getting the build sheet free is going to be tough after all of these years. I have not found a good method. My recommendation would be to take multiple pictures of it before trying anything. Good luck!

I just looked through thread and realized I didn't tell cars story and why it's so original. Guy I bought it from's brother bought car in 1995 from NCHP I was told. He had it until 98 when he died it sat at their parents until 2000 when guy I got from came home from military. He took it to his house where it sat until 2003 he registered it 2003-2006 then it sat there until I bought it. He doesn't remember last time he started it. And sadly I haven't had a chance to get it running yet.
