I am wondering how the car is able to be used for a full 8 hr shift without recharge. I mean, what technology does this thing have that can't be used across the board on electric cars to make them more usable to general consumers ? Then again, wonder how much money is in this thing ?!? lol

It is a good start but we all know that, especially in small departments, these cars run 24/7. I wish them the best of luck in further development in the field.

For fun leave me with my GAS GUSLING V8 SSPs.:D

It's neat, but I agree with what has already been said. The technology for these vehicles to truly function in a law enforcement role isn't here yet. That car would be good for admin purposes, but I doubt anything like that could be used for normal patrol work (which sometimes lasts longer than the planned 8, 10 or 12 hour shift, for example). I've never driven one of these, but aren't they a little lacking in the acceleration department?

guerro 08-24-2007 06:31 PM

electric powered cars in general are not necesarrily lacking in acceleration. Most electric motors used in cars are torque monsters. i don't know the performance specs of this car but like most have said, it aint gonna cut it for day-in, day-out use. Nice publicity piece, though.

I hope the trip goes well and without any incident as far as anything hitting a car while on transport.
