current status of 1993 CHP 5305

Here is how it looks so far. Feb 18th it goes to the detail shop to be wetsanded and buffed and then the decals go on. I just got the decals from M Squad yesterday. The wheels are not correct being that the 93's used the natural finish but I like the look of the black to much not to go with it. I still have masking paper on the quarter glass in the photos and a piece of masking tape stuck to the quarter panel. The exuast will be replaced soon as well.

I have two of those plates. They were left on the car. Its wearing a Pennsylvania plate now. I dont know the front from the back, here in PA we only use one plate. The tires were the stock size the car called for on a v8 LX Mustang on tirerack.com. Do they look weird ? they are Goodyear Eagles.

Whats the difference?

SparkSVT 02-14-2008 10:03 PM

Tirerack calls for a 225/60-15 so i think thats what I have on it.

They're identical except that the rear plate is where you apply the registration stickers:

Not weird, just a bit different in profile from the Generals or BFGs which are more square in the shoulder. You have the correct size on there.

Decals are now on. Im trying to get this thing ready for the show season. I am moving on to finish the interior up next and the emergency lights. Here is it as it sat when I picked it up from the decal instalation. One of the cops was looking at it when I snapped the pictures. The car is dirty in the photos.

Congrats! That is a sweet looking ride! Looks so GOOD with the decals on it.

Polish the tail pipes and tail light lenses, install the rest of the interior and that thing will look like BRAND NEW!

You have done and excellent job on that car. I am sure you will continue to get more and more praise about it.

Matt

NoDrama43 04-04-2008 01:30 AM

very nice !! I'm sure you are glad to finally get to this point with the car.

Winterpark SSP 04-04-2008 06:24 AM

WOW!!

Looks BEAU-tiful!

You can polish the pipes by first lightly wetsanding them with 2000 grit sandpaper. Be careful only to sand left to right with the grain.
When complete, go over pipes with a damp "microfiber" cloth and some good metal cleaner/polish (I like Eagle1) and wipe dry with a clean/dry towel.

Pipes will be BRANDY new!

SparkSVT 04-04-2008 11:09 AM

Unfortunately the one pipe is slightly crushed and the original Ford mufflers have impact damage to them. I will be replacing the exaust with new stuff and OEM style pipes. Thanks for all positive comments. I never thought I would get this far!

Mustang Crazy 04-06-2008 08:23 AM

Looking Good!!!
