Guys,

It is official, The Winterpark SSP is 100% complete!!! I will upload more pictures as soon as it gets nicer here, attatched is one in my garage.
(I am not sure why I could not start this thread in the Aero Car Section)

I wanted to thank everyone that has helped me over this past 6 months.

I have not had the courage to tally up the receipts but am quite confident it far exceeds the value and I don't care. I don't ever plan on selling it and did it 100% correct.

BEAUTIFUL!!!:2thumbs:

predator20 03-06-2008 10:17 PM

A million times better than the brochure car.

Winterpark SSP 03-06-2008 10:18 PM

Thanks for the kudos guys!

mustangretriever 03-06-2008 10:25 PM

That's really nice! Do you have any in-service pics of it?

Winterpark SSP 03-06-2008 10:31 PM

I have one from the officer who drove the car. It is sitting in his driveway at his home. I will scan it and upload it soon. I have been in close contact with him. The whole Winterpark PD department is excited to see the final product. It looks exact except for the black 10-holes.

Mustang Crazy 03-06-2008 10:35 PM

Looks Good!!!:2thumbs:

ImEvil1 03-06-2008 10:46 PM

Very sharp and +1000 on the brochure car comments. Great job!

SparkSVT 03-06-2008 10:54 PM

really nice job on that one. The only thing I would get rid of is the 5.0/police interceptor emblems for regular 5.0 emblems. That car does look great though.

w4ata 03-07-2008 12:58 AM

Awsome job!!! Absolutely beautiful!!!:2thumbs:

Winterpark SSP 03-07-2008 07:49 AM

I am very happy on how it turned out. Attatched is the link of the "process" of completing it.

(I will have to upload pictures of the interior as it is also 100% perfect, like the undercarriage and engine bay)

One of the pictures is of the "custom bracket" that we made for the PA 300 controller to fit neatly below the radio instead of attached to the console. This may not exactly be "factory" item (although the bracket is made by Federal Signal with some modification), but it cleans up the console area nicely.

mustangretriever 03-07-2008 12:33 PM

Definitely post the in-service picture!

Ha! I never have done that and like you, it doesn't matter to me either. The only thing that's important is that you're satisfied with the end product and ready to enjoy it. Congrats on an awesome restoration so now get out there and show it off!

Winterpark SSP 03-07-2008 01:57 PM

I don't own an SSP (but would love one), and this is a shining example of how to keep these things true to form.

Truly beautiful! Amazing job!

Winterpark SSP 04-28-2008 07:01 AM

Thank You!

Thanks! My last "piece to the puzzle" was the replacement of the rear "package tray" (from FMR) and changing the Galls round strobes to Whelen Dashmiser(s) to match the front mirror mount dual red/blue Dashmiser.

I was only keeping the Galls (rounds) as I did not want ANOTHER set of holes in the old package tray installing the Whelen's. I will upload a picture soon :D

Again, the car looks amazing. Has the Winter Park PD shown much interest in seeing the finished product? Being such a small community, and PD I would think they would love to see it.

Winterpark SSP 05-03-2008 03:51 PM

Winterpark PD

Yes, they are "enthralled" by it. I just spoke today to the assistant chief, feet manager and patrolman who drove the vehicle. They are sending up a box of goodies consisting of hats, sweaters, t-shirts etc all with the Winterpark Police patch on them.

Nice "props" for future shows.
