Trunk Release Button

When did the relocated trunk buttons start? I was looking through my newly purchased 86 and the button is in the glove box.

Like the single-key locks and bonding straps, it was a DSO option item and was not part of the standard SSP package. If it was not ordered on your DSO, your car wouldn't have come with it.

Thanks for the info.

It became standard starting in 1987, but you could opt out (just like the single-key lock option).

Gary,
My 86 UHP has the trunk button in the glove box and I have two keys that look like they are the original issue. I hope this helps along with the others.
