Went to the body shop today to drop of the pass door. Can't wait to see it done.

That's the way to do it right there. Are you going to have the body shop put all the chrome trim back on the car etc?

FHP813 01-28-2008 11:58 PM

Thanks, No I'll be doing all of the reassembly except for hanging the doors and the header panel into the bumper cover.

Bernie, a year ago I drove that car down a mile of frozen mud to be picked up by a transport to go to Canada. It certainly has gone through some changes since then! Can't wait to see the final product. It would still be sitting under a cover in the corner of my garage if I would have kept it. Nice job.

That car is looking GREAT!!

86NeSSP 01-29-2008 03:50 PM

That is how you do a paint job...

I have had one car stripped completely down and re-painted a completely different color all together and that is the only way to have it done properly. I know yours is going back white what it was originally and this will be an awesome restoration when complete.

I can't wait to see this when it's done! UHP foureye cars rock! I wish the 86 Ne car I have would have been a slicktop. No such luck though.

Matt

Thanks Guys! I'm not going to rush it but I'm really anxious to see it finished.

Bob, Rest assured it will live the rest of it's life (Hopefully) as a south Florida retiree. And you are right it has been around. It almost has as much transporter miles as actual miles.

It's coming along. Can't wait to see it finished!

I bought the car with the purpose to try and sell it to someone who would give it the restoration it deserved. I did a few things to it but it is obvious Bernie is doing it right. I am very happy he decided to buy it.

looking good Bernie.

Bernie,

Do you have an 86 owners manual packet with the UHP car?

As a matter of fact I went by the shop and to my surprise I found most of the car had been painted! Just needs the fenders and the hood done.

Looking GOOD! I can't wait to one day have my Nebraska car to the point where I need to reassemble the interior after a complete paint job is finished.
