1985 Ford Mustang LX Special Service Police, Florida Highway Patrol, Coupe, 165,000 miles. I am the only private owner of this FHP Mustang. I bought this car from the State of Florida auction in ~1989 with 85,000 original miles and have original documents. Original black and tan paint had to be painted over after purchase by the SOF rules, traces of the tan can be seen in a few places like inside the trunk. Still retains the two antenna mounts and wiring with antennas cut to 2M ham radio band length and the spot light which doesn't work. The car has been sitting for 5-6 years and could have typical things that go wrong or need maintenance like, tires, oil, brakes, hoses, trim etc. All four tires have flat spots/cracks-almost worn out anyway. Original Holley carb has been rebuilt and the car runs great drove it today. Has some light rust on sharp edges-needs paint and one bad rust spot/hole under the battery tray and into the frame rail. Front bumper cover has damage that was there when I bought it but has worsened over time paint on hood is oxidized and overall all paint is dull. Only non original equipment is a Holley fuel filter/radio/MSD timing adjustable ignition box and under hood blanket which came from a newer mustang. Transmission replaced with new OEM tranny about 10,000 miles ago. Temp gauge and AC worked when I parked it but isn't working now Interior is fair showing many years of use but not torn up drivers seat has small tear.

FYI-Pictures make the car look 10x better than it is Florida thunderstorms work miracles for dull paint. This would be a good candidate for an original restoration as it's 99+% correct as it sits or just do the minimum maintenance and drive. Ford says it will do 135mph, in 5th OD gear at 65mph the rpm is about 1700. Was going to put a Boss302 motor in it but too many projects.
