RCMP 86 SSP back from Body Shop
10 Attachment(s)
As some of you know, I bought 2 of the first 8 RCMP Mustangs last year from the guy who bought them at the Govt auctions back in 1991. He had them parked outside in his driveway for 18 years. After learning of them a few years back I finally got to buy them in September of 2010 and had them shipped to Regina, Saskatachewan in October. You can check my previous postings for pics etc. Anyhow last November I stripped out the interior of one and checked for rust issues. Two or three minor spots on the floor that was all. Over the winter and spring I had most of the mechanics addressed, rear end rebuilt, new brakes and other maintenance issues. Engine and Trans run great. In may I stripped off most of the parts in prep for a complete repaint and had it towed to the Body shop in May. After six months of slow process I got it back. The large body shop was very busy and just worked on it between jobs. Enjoy the pics. Still lots and lots to do interior, engine compartment, equipment etc.

Wow, that one is going to look great. You're right at the best part of a project...with the major mechanical and body/paint done, everything that goes on from here is very satisfying and icing on the cake!
