Completed my radar install!

Thanks to my brother who built me a platform and a brace (with design help from original installer), I have completed the installation of the radar on my Minnesota State Patrol SSP. :)

Very cool that you were able to finish that piece off Bob. I'm looking forward to you improving upon and evolving what I was able to do with the SSP.

Excellent install! Looks nice and clean!

What kind of light is that above the mirror??
|
Able 2 Sho-Me LED Triple Light Stick 11.2715 (same one is used on the rear deck above 3rd brake light).

The original lights were problematic (while in service) and the company is out of business now, and this is the closest in size and function as the originals.

What kind of lights were they?

Man. That's a new one. You have a pic of what they look like??

Have you ever seen these? Period correct, still in production, and probably fill the same function (as the dimensions look pretty close). These are Code 3 halogens, BTW.

Approved Technologies now owned by Sound Off, best I can tell, here is what you are looking for:

Nice work, Greg! Subtle difference from the Code 3s, but even better if they are the original "Approved Technology" design.
What do you think, Bob? |

Personally, I'd go with the halogens that Greg posted; even if the size is a little off. No one would really ever know the difference. Everyone, however, will immediately know that the LEDs are incorrect. My .02. |

Code 3 makes a triple hologen light similar to that. There's (2) on ebay HERE. They have amber lenses, but you can find different lenses on elightbars.org. You could probably find that light there as well. |
So the halogen light has to be 1-15/16" H x 15-3/4" W x 1-15/16" D in size?
Seems large width wise to me for halogen but I guess if that's what you guys measured that's what it is then. |
Hold up the train. What about this?
http://www.soundoffsignal.com/strb-h...n/EUDHHB0J.jpg This looks similar to what I see in the photo. |

I like them.
I have (2) of the Sound Off 28 halogens for my rear deck and a single Sound Off 24 strobe to mount up next to the review mirror on mine. |
I just did an Adobe CS4 Measurement analysis of the photo and the light over the rearview mirror is not 15 inches in size but closer to 8 inches. What other references did you have as I'm curious.

That is some cool stuff right there, though. |
My Model 28 is like 8-3/4"W x 2-1/8"H

Bob p.s thanks again for everybody's research on this. |

After looking at a photo taken by the owner before Mike P., I see there are only one set of screw holes from mounting brackets (less than 9" apart). I don't believe my MN SSP ever had triple stick lights (front and rear) while in service. I need to find a new metal headliner (too many screw holes) front panel in regatta blue and a pair of dual halogen 8" x 2" lights (both lenses red). I also looked on the rear package tray and found the original mounting holes for mounting a dual light stick (less than 9" apart).
