Thought I'd bore you with some pictures on the progress of my CHP SSP.
Waiting on the headliner, it's been on back order for 2 months now.

It's first show is fitting for it I feel. It will be Sept. 20 - 21st at the CHP Academy for Retiree's Day. It will be all together. Emergency lights etc will not be functionable, but it will look as if they are.
I'll wire those up after the Ripon, CA show once I get back from that.

Mike will have his 88 there and we'll be parked side by side I am sure.
Should be a fun time !

I'm going to talk the EVOC Sgt. into letting me take mine around the track a couple laps. I'll leave the show tires off this time. Hope to get some good shots of it on the EVOC track.
We'll see if we can get Mike out there also !

Concole is in, seats are at the upholster and will be back this week. ( so they say ) It's really close !! Can't wait !

Looking good John. Be sure to test fit your weapon before snugging down that rack...mine is still giving me some minor grief on the barrel end to windsheld proximity.

Had to pass on a filming opportunity the Academy/HQ staff is involved in tomorrow (arranged for Mike D's '86 to stand in) but looking forward to the event next month!

Yeah, I am hoping to get in on some filming parts also. That would be a blast.
Yep, I have been fitting the shotgun each time. I had to move the rack forward a touch from the original holes to keep the barrel from hitting the windshield. It works great now.

Haven't ziptided the trunk wiring ( as in picture ) but working on that.
Not changing tires on this show. Keeping street tires on. no time to clean the wheels and spray them like I want to do. All in time.
But it will be complete and showable at least.

Thanks !

Looking forward to next month with you down there. We'll have some fun.
I'll get the cars on the EVOC track :) !!

Looks good John!:2thumbs:

My dad and I will have to bring over that door skin with the decals still applied so you can check it out. Have you tried the throttle position sensor I gave you yet?

Would be cool if my dad and I could make it to the Retiree's day show. Would love to see you guy's cars on the track. Would definitely get pics of you guys:)

My dad talked to the PR guy, Mike. Looks like there is a possibility that a certain 85 CHP might get some film time in the future as well:D

Your SSP/ CHP Mustang pictures are awesome and I can't wait to see it in person at this years Ripon Show in October. Unfortunately my 1982 won't make it's debut there like I anticipated but she will make there in 2013. I am hoping to at least get my Adam 12 replica car there in the least in its near completion stages. Once again your car is looking good.

Thank you ! It's coming along !

John10608 08-09-2012 06:58 PM

Haven't tried the throttle position sensor yet. The previous owner had installed a new one to try to get the same issue resolved.
I forgot that he told me about that one.

I'll get to it. Sooner or later.

No worries lol

I see you got your new door tag. Did you have to provide the accessory load #s?

I accidentally destroyed mine...

Looks good!
