1985 KSP

With a big thanks to a fellow member, we picked up this '85 KSP over the weekend. :2thumbs: Car is a roller, but still has the original KSP grill strobe mounts.

Nice score. Is this one in our VIN Project?

Sweet car!

Thanks guys! A fellow member tracked this car down and let me know about it. It is a very original car. Still had the original wheels and center caps that had been painted flat black. Even had a couple radar calibration certificates in the glove box.

Bill, this one is in the VIN project.

The story is that a previous owner had dropped it off at a machine shop to have the engine rebuilt, but didn't have the money to pay for it. The shop sold the engine and trans. At some point, a beam fell across the roof, broke out the back glass, and damaged the cowl and front fender. Other than a little rust in the driver's door, it is a very solid car. It does not have a rollbar as seen in numerous other KSP's. It doesn't look like a rollbar was ever installed though. I remember reading somewhere that KSP started installing rollbars in '90. If that is true, I would assume this one was taken out of service before then.
