Sorry I forgot to add this car is not mine. I tried to add pics but they are coming out really small. I'm right over the hill from this car if someone is interested.

The above car is in our VIN Project - http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info111906.htm I spoke with the seller, who confirmed that his car's VIN ends in 111906, and that the number written on the door is 5310. This car which is for sale is the white 1993 SMPV in the above picture! EDIT: Attached is a picture of the VIN label on the door that the seller sent me. This is only the 3rd SMPV to have surfaced. I changed the thread title too! :D |
Wow - what are the chances? Don't see an opportunity like this every day.
That's pretty cool...here's hoping it ends up in good hands.
Wow, wish I was in a position to get it....very rare opportunity. Hope someone saves it!
So what do you guys think about the price though???
The seller is high on the price, but someone with money in-hand could likely get it for less dough. Let's face it, these cars do not come up for sale that often, and it is a cool piece of CHP history that deserves to be restored. We do not have the resource we had a few years ago on getting Assignment Cards, so it will be difficult to document more SMPVs unless we can match VINs to in-service photos like this car. Although the seller is asking too much, no one should hesitate if this is the SSP they've always wanted. I doubt that a 4th SMPV will be popping up for sale any time soon.

$7K is way too high for that condition. Rarity aside, I am thinking this is a $4-5K car, tops.
