You can build it yourself and here's the shopping list, all available at any hardware store for under 10 bucks:

* 3/4" SCH80 PVC pipe - enough for 2 pieces: 47" for pole & 6" for handle
* 3/4" PVC pipe caps - 4 ea.
* 1/8" clear vinyl coated steel cable - about 6'
* 1/8" cable ferrule and stop set - you'll just need 2 stops
* 1" black Velcro strap

Start by looking at how this one was made-it's the same general concept-and comparing it to the CHP version:

The construction differences are that the CHP version uses no copper reinforcement piping, the cable end at the loop (business) end of the snare pole is swaged inside the pole instead of on the outside and the cable enters the handle at the end instead of in the middle of the handle so it forms a straight and not a "T" handle. That's about it.

Mike, Thank you VERY VERY much for the detailed how to for the snare. It looks great!!! Fyi the ONLY thing that I needed to do to get the exact length snare as yours is to use a total length of 7' 5'' of cable. I also wanted to ask you if my 1985 trunk is supposed to have a fire ext mounted on the left of the CHP box on the floor. I have 1 screw hole there from the CHP. My first aid kit is on the trunk floor on the right side of the CHP box. I really appreciate all you help!!

Rich

Note of correction to the above information - the cable length needed should read EIGHT feet and not 6 feet. Sorry for my fumble-fingers and thanks to CHP8336 for pointing this out.
