89 ssp owner newbie to site

Hi ya'll. Found the site after watching a u-tube video where it was mentioned. I didn't realize they had such a following! I bought my 89 many years ago and it's been a great car. It was originally an ISP (Idaho) car. I bought it from a buddy of mine who had been searching for one and finally got it only to have his crazy wife throw a bunch of beer bottles at the windshield....the rear window was crazed as well from the rear defroster...probably because of the wrecked and replaced pass rear quarter putting it in a bind...(which is now damaged again!) and he decided to sell it to me. Oh yeh, the alternator was dead as well and it needed rubber. I replaced and rebuilt everything and started driving it. These things are FAST! The original 3.08 posi rear had been replaced with a 2.73 posi and I got a speeding ticket or two until I realized the speedo was lying.... My buddy Allen claimed he'd gotten the cop car up to 155+ mph with those gears!? I do know that it has no rev limiter as I've had it up to 6,800 rpm. The only engine mods I was aware of were under drive pulleys, an electric fan and a K&N air filter. I'ts since had the fan replaced with a stocker, the original 3.08's back in, rebuilt the posi, new racing clutch and cable, new door handles and had it painted once. Actually Allens girlfriend bought the car back from me a few years ago and had most of the mechanical stuff done then sold it back to me again! I don't think she liked the pedal effort of the new racing clutch. Oh, almost forgot, I blew the original tranny doing a burnout in reverse and replaced it with another world class T-5 a few years back. The reason I'm telling this story is because I have WAY to many older mustangs and other ford collectibles to restore and would like to see this one go to a good home. I'm on other forums as csgt428 also if anyone cares to check up on me. I'm going to post it in the for sale section if anyone is interested....I'll probably take the best offer over $3000

Welcome, and GLWS! Could you post up a photo of the VIN label on driver's door for our VIN Project?

Welcome and good luck selling the car. Hope someone here buys it and can restore it.

Thank you! Since your car's DSO matches another SSP from the same VIN batch, I will add your SSP to our VIN Project some time this week. :)

You're very welcome. If you want any other pics just let me know. I'll probably post some of the interior later. Oh, in case anyone is wondering, I replaced the tail lights with GT units as one of the originals was damaged. I may still have the remaining LX light around here somewhere.

Wow, interior looks really good....if this car was on my side of the country it would be very tempting. So I'm glad it isn't lol, I need another one like I need a hole in the head. :D

GLWS!! ;)
