fuel: gas
odometer: 150000
paint color: custom
title status: clean
transmission: manual
Very nice 1985 CHP Mustang that has been restored and upgraded. Engine has been rebuilt with E7 cylinder heads, a .030 overbore (306 cubic inch) with a CompCams 266R cam, 1.7 roller rockers, JBA headers, and an Edelbrock carduretor. McLeod heavy duty clutch. Transmission has been upgraded with a Cobra unit as well as larger Cobra brakes. Car has a panhard bar and subframe connectors which gives is rigidity and keeps the rear end planted. Currently, the car has a smog pump delete setup. The black portion of the car was painted in 2010, the white was painted in early 2014 with new correct decals.

Inside, the seats and headliner are nice originals, the carpet has been replaced. Most of the original CHP equipment is mounted in the car; some of it is not installed. It does not currently have a siren. Heater and A/C not operational at this time

Car runs and drives excellent. The speedometer does not work, but I have a correct complete cluster that goes with the car. Rear deck lights (wigwags) are functional. The front spot lamps are in place but not currently hooked up. The car just needs a little TLC and will look great!

1. Vehicle is registered here in CA
2. Car is clean title
3. Car is not drivable because of CHP decals and paint.
4. Mechanical condition of car - Great condition
5. Car doesn't pass smog - due to smog pump delete setup.
6. No incidents
7. No original 4 lug steel wheels
8. Engine milage is under 60k

For asking pricing of $25K you'd at least think owner would clean the car up for the photos and present the car in a way that might at least help their odds of a high dollar sale.

I see that all of the time on craigslist. You would think it would cross their mind.

That is my old car - E408395. To correct a few things, the trans to my knowledge is original to the car (not a Cobra unit). It does have the 93 Cobra-era rear with 4-lug disk brakes and 3.27:1 gears (and 87-up 11" stock brakes up front). The car handles very well. The rebuilt engine probably has less than 2K miles since it went in. The C-pillar paint brake is too high and the equipment is not mounted correctly (done by the guy I sold it to).

Based upon the seller's comments this car is now California, which may mean the long time seller in Montana finally found a buyer (who is selling it now). Just conjecture on my part.

It's about time you checked in to the party Bill!
Hope all is good with you and yours.
wish you still owned the car.

Hi Andy!

It's good to hear from you. I am not able to log into the forum while at work any longer, so my available time here is greatly reduced. All is good, but I am much busier than I thought I'd be at this point in my life. I have no time to get down in the dumps about it. My mind is focused and we are working towards the future; wherever it may take us.

It's at 19k now. It's going to be a tough sell in California without smog equipment. But it would be worth it for the right price. Absolutely not 19k. I live about an hour from it. With the smog issues and incorrect wheels I doubt it brings that. I wouldn't mind it at the right price though....
